How do you blog for business?

Clearly I am big big big fan of blogging.  Last year I walked in to the Spreadshirt office and was talking about blogging this and blogging that and the other Lynsie said to me tomorrow you are going to come in and tell me how blogging can cure cancer.  Well blogging might have something to do with curing cancer someday because blogging is a great way to get people communicating about things online and to share information.  Chris Brogan, who I know from PodCamp has a great blog conveniently located at ChrisBrogan.com.

Yesterday he wrote a post - “How Does Your Blog Relate to Your Business?” asking people to share how they use their blog for their business.  The responses are really interesting - right now over 30 people have shared how they use their blog.

So I thought I would ask Spreadshirters if and how they blog and how it relates to your shop.  My shop is a great accessory to my blog about Pittsburgh.  I have the shop in the side bar and I add new items every so often.  I also blog for Metroblogs - they have a great spreadshirt shop too.

Do you have a blog for your shop?  Do you write about your shop on your blog?  Do you hate blogging?

Join the SellMoreShirts group on Indiepublic

One cool website that I stop by every so often is Indiepublic - it is a social network for indie sellers, I think I first learned about Indiepublic from the Etsy message boards, so there are lots of crafters and DIY sellers who contribute.

There is a lot of great info about running an online business here.  So I created a group for t-shirt sellers to share tips and tricks.  The group is called SellMoreShirts - click here to check it out, you may have to join Indiepublic first.  You can set up your own profile, click here to see mine, and connect to friends.  Many people upload pictures of their items for sale too.   Indiepublic is built on Ning, so if you are already a member of another Ning community (Threadchat is built on Ning too) then your login should work on Indiepiublic too.

Share Your Spring Favorites and Win at ThisNext

I ocassionally check out some of the social shopping sites where you can save your favorite products with your friends and the other users, write reviews and create wish lists.  I think this could be a good way to share some of the products in your shop with others who may be interested.

One of the social shopping sites that I like is ThisNext.  It is very easy to add your products - upload a pictures and link and add some tags.  For the next 2 weeks when you add a product and tag it with “SpringDesign” you could win all sorts of cool spring prizes from ThisNext.  More details here.

How to Enter

  • 1 - Recommend your favorite products for spring.
  • 2 - Tag your recommendations “SpringDesign”.
  • 3 -Enter multiple times to increase your chance of winning.

So stop by ThisNext and share some of your best spring products with other social shoppers and you could win.  Please leave a comment here or send me an email (lpa-at-spreadshirt.com) and I will feature some of your products from ThisNext here on the Spreadshirt blog too.

People are Digging this Obama T-shirt - Say no more!

Black with gold is one of my favorite color combinations.

The blog post about this t-shirt is getting some Diggs. I have noticed that campaign t-shirts have been getting lots of traffic from StumbleUpon. If you have campaign shirts in your shop you might want to submit them to StumbleUpon, Digg or some of the other social sites out there. We have been checking out a new social shopping site - Kaboodle - I am just learning to use it but it has a nice Firefox extension.

This shop partner took an existing graphic and improved it with custom text. You can find thousands of graphics to use in your shop in the marketplace. When you find a design you want to use to create products in your shop - just click the link on the left side that says “add to my shop.”
