One of the easiest ways to make a really good looking shirt at Spreadshirt.com is to use text.  There are lots of things you can do with text and no design skills are needed.  One of the blogs I enjoy following on a daily basis is TeeCycle (see my other post on TeeCycle here).  I have even ordered some TeeCycled shirts for my sisters (One sister loves the Strand and the other is a Ski Nut).

Today’s TeeCycle shirt does a great job of using color and text and I think it is worth sharing. This shirt definity makes me want to get off of the couch and move.

Since we are big fan’s of *text t-shirts here at Spreadshirt, I thought this was worth sharing.  I really like  the way the letter look when they are smooshed together like they are in the scarf.  I think you could so some really great t-shirt designs with some text like that. Some of the best looking t-shirts that come through Spreadshirt are the simple ones that have just text. With different fonts and colors there are endless combinations of creative ways to use words to create good looking t-shirts.

Here are some of our tips for text t-shirts…

• Less is more - Too much text is hard to read
• People cannot read small font
• Keep text near the top… lots happen at the bottom
• Location, location, location
• Front… message in their face, graphics work well
• Back… give people something to read while standing in line
• Sleeves… something different

Hood printing is now available on some of our more light weight hooded items - junior’s sleeveless sport hoodie and the junior’s long sleeve hooded tee.

I am excited to try his hood printing. I think this is a great way to use the valuable real estate on the back of the hooded shirts. I don’t usually put things on the back of the hooded sweatshirts because the hood covers the printing but I am hoping I can position the text or design on the hood so that when the hood is down it add something to read to the back.

In just a few days we will be launching the New Year, New You Promotion. This is a great time to add some New Year designs to your shop. Here is a funny one that Jesse put together.

We would love to see some other ideas to inspire a healthy new year or to make fun of those who try to succeed at a new you for the new year. I actually went to the gym last night just so I could get a head start on all of the people that join for the new year.

Monogrammed tote bags are available from almost every catalog under the sun. I was trying to fall asleep one night when I thought of using text to create a monogram. This was super easy to design on Spreadshirt.com.

• Create a text box with the first and middle initials. Add a few spaces between the letters.
• Click elsewhere on the tote which should clear the text box.
• Create a 2nd text box by typing the last in initial. Make the font size of the last initial larger than the first text box.

You may have to add or remove some of the space in the first text box to get things to look correctly, you can use the center function on both text boxes to get them to line up.
