I was really excited to find this great interview with the artist Shepard Fairly in the latest edition of T-shirt Magazine. Shepard Fairly is best know for his Obey art work which can be seen everywhere.
He is the man behind the Andre The Giant sticker that have become one of the best known viral artwork project/campaigns. I think that his designs which are based on stencils, are great example of how you can use the stencil idea to create some great vector designs for your Spreadshirt shop.
He has recently created posters for the Obama campaign and Fairey’s Obama posters are showing up everywhere.
For more info on Shepard Fairey check out his Wikipedia Page and ObeyGiant.com
The interview was done by KarmaloopTV.com which is associated with the Karmaloop shop - a long time e-tailer of some amazing t-shirts.

With the Presidential campaigns in full swing the democratic and republican national conventions are just around the corner. There have been quite a few stories in the news about the protesters that are planning on attending each of the conventions. Protesting is a form of expression, we are big on self expression via t-shirt here at Spreadshirt. We want to know if you have any protest t-shirt designs in your shop?
Convention Details:
Democratic National Convention, Denver, CO - August 25-28, 2008
Republican National Convention, Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN - September 1-4, 2008
Here are some blog posts and articles about anticipated protesters:
I was just emailed this little video commercial from MoveOn’s Obama Commercial Contest. It is pretty funny - but all I could think about while watching was this needs to be a t-shirt. Just a simple text t-shirt. So I am putting this challenge out to you - show me what you can do with the 4 letters - H O P E and a t-shirt. I will feature the best ones here on the blog.
It Could Happen to You
Important Disclosure - Spreadshirt does not endorse any candidates - we are just here to help you support your favorite candidate via the all important media of the t-shirt.
Black with gold is one of my favorite color combinations.
The blog post about this t-shirt is getting some Diggs. I have noticed that campaign t-shirts have been getting lots of traffic from StumbleUpon. If you have campaign shirts in your shop you might want to submit them to StumbleUpon, Digg or some of the other social sites out there. We have been checking out a new social shopping site - Kaboodle - I am just learning to use it but it has a nice Firefox extension.
This shop partner took an existing graphic and improved it with custom text. You can find thousands of graphics to use in your shop in the marketplace. When you find a design you want to use to create products in your shop - just click the link on the left side that says “add to my shop.”
is Yes, We Can in Spanish. Jan at Toterly must be reading this blog. He just posted a picture of the custom tote she made to show his support for Obama. Check out his post about his tote - and his kind words about Spreadshirt at Toterly.

Less than 24 hours to go until Super Tuesday. I just took a look at this YouTube video - were some of the top celebrities participate in singing one of Barack Obama’s speeches. There are some amazing t-shirts in this video - I know this picture isn’t the best - but you can see the Obama t-shirt.

Even, better - you can create your own Yes We Can t-shirt/tote/bib at Spreadshirt. Have you created a shirt to support your favorite candidate? We want to see - please leave a comment with a link.
Check out the Video - many of the celebrities are wearing t-shirts, there are some cool designs too.
Important Sounding Disclaimer: This is not an endorsement of any candidate, just an indept look at politics and t-shirts.
Super Tuesday is just 2 weeks away. It is presidential campaign season and that means it is political t-shirt season. We want to show off the best and funniest political t-shirts. Campaign t-shirts can be big sellers - support your favorite candidate or make fun of your least favorite candidate. Add you political designs to the Spreadshirt marketplace and please add the tag Vote2008 so I can find them and blog about them.
I am loving this Llama for Obama design - I think it looks hot on the light blue shirt. One of my favorite t-shirts from the 2004 election was on this blue color.
