We decided to focus this month’s Trend Report on the shopping days and times which our buyers in Europe and North America really love to click on that buy button. Some of differences between North Americans and Europeans are well known, but perhaps parts of these findings support those differences (siestas?) or provide us with insights (buying at work?).

North Americans best like to part from their money in the afternoon, whereas Europeans tend to hold on to their hard-earned cash well into the evening. The one exception in Europe are the Italians, who strongly increase their buying from 3 to 4 p.m. – nothing like a nice shirt purchase after a siesta, I guess. The average European really gets into the buying mood between 8 and 9 p.m.

I caught the end of this segment about penguins on CNN last night and I was happy to see this headline t-shirt.

The 2 male penguins that have been a couple at the San Francisco zoo for the past year have split up.  Harry left Pepper for Linda after her husband died.  The Best Week Ever blog gives a pretty funny run down of the whole story here.  I have to agree with the blog Meidaite who filed this story under “great moments in journalism” - the reporting on the story is pretty funny.

But it makes you feel a little sad for Pepper the penguin - I wish I could get a pro Pepper the Penguin t-shirt.

Rather than write about Friday the 13th t-shirts (are there any t-shirts about Friday the 13th?) I thought we could skip ahead a day and talk about t-shirts for February 14.

Hide Your Arms has a post on t-shirt for the day 14 Tees That You Should Wear on Valentine’s Day. My favorite from the list is the Heartris Tee, makes me miss playing Tetris on my gameboy. If Valentine’s Day isn’t for you - check out the Hide Your Arms post from last year “14 Tees That You Shouldn’t Wear on Valentines Day”.

Buy-Tees has a post about the lack of good Valentine’s Day t-shirts, but I have to say I kind of like this html t-shirt from ThinkGeek. Check out all of the user submitted pictures of this shirt here.

While this is not just for Valentine’s Day - The Heart Invaders t-shirt from Amorphia Apparel is perfect for the occasion. Check out some other heart designs from Amorphia Apparel here.

Another shirt that isn’t just for Valentine’s Day, but the pink heart makes it a good choice for Feb. 14 is this Have a Heart T-shirt from the Little City Design’s Etsy Shop.  Aside from the fact that I think this is a really cool looking shirt - all of the proceeds from this shirt are going to a foundation to support the artist’s godmother’s children.  Read the whole story here.

One of the things I posted on the IheartPGH blog this morning is a glass flower making workshop. For $25 you and a loved one can make your very own glass flower at the Pittbsurgh Glass Center. If you aren’t near Pittsburgh check out this tutorial that I found on the Etsy Blog (also on the Craft Blog) - how to make roses out of ribbon. Now we just need some one to come up with a way to make flowers out of t-shirts!

I thought it was time for another post about t-shirts on the big screen. This time I am expanding to television. I have been noticing some great t-shirts on the TBS show MyBoys. The character Brendan (and some of the other characters) is wearing a great t-shirt in almost every scene.

It turns out that many of these t-shirts are from the shop WornFree.com - they resurrect and sell vintage t-shirts.

Twitterfeed lets you add an RSS feed that automatically updates your twitter feed.  Plus it lets you customize how often updates are posted.  I have set this up for the Spreadshirt blog.  I haven’t tried this yet but I think you could also add your rss feed for your shop to Twitterfeed.
