GIVEAWAY - Create New Products - Win MOO Mini Cards!

Last week we launched some awesome new products for fall - I am falling in love with the new scarf myself. Well as an incentive to add some of these new products to your shop - we have teamed up with Moo Cards to give away 10 packs of Moo Cards!

Create a new product with one of the new items below and add it to your shop or the marketplace by Sept. 10, 2009. We will select 10 winners to receive a free 100 card pack of Moo Mini Cards. Leave a comment here with a link to your new product! We want to see what you are creating!

1. Men’s American Apparel Fleece Track Pants - black with white trim

2. Men’s American Apparel Thermal Lined Hoodie – black/white, cranberry/navy and navy/melange navy

3. American Apparel Jersey Scarf - royal blue, red, dark pink, and black

4. Toddler American Apparel Long Sleeve Tee - white and black

5. Baby American Apparel Long Sleeve Lap Tee - white, black and red

More about the Moo Mini Cards - The MiniCard format is about half the size of a business card. Therefore, MiniCards are somewhat smaller than a normal flyer, but are that much more conventional. The great thing about MOO is that, just like at Spreadshirt, you can customize each and every card with a specific photo or design. When we announce the winners, we will give you a few tips on all of the marketing potential which MOO cards (and flyers in general) have for your shops.

laFraise Unveils 15K Contest Winner

As some of you might have read on laFraise’s blog, the winner of one of the largest online design competition prizes ever awarded was announced yesterday. As you can see from the 12 finalists, there was some tough competition to rake in the €15,000.

Can you take the suspense?

You’ll find the winner after the click (drum-roll please, trumpets blare):

And then there were 12: Round 2 for laFraise’s 15K Contest

This Monday, laFraise unvealed the 12 designs which made it into the second round of the €15,000 Contest. From the 4,000 submissions, 800 were approved for the contest – I imagine choosing 12 from the 800 was certainly not the easiest of tasks. This group of 12 were chosen based on their score, the amount of pre-orders, the community’s comments, the design’s overall quality and laFraise’s personal taste. And now these 12 are up for another round of votes.

The winner of the contest will become the proud recipient of one of the biggest prizes ever awarded in t-shirt design contest history. When I first wrote about this contest last month, the prize money was at $20,995 - but, thanks to an even weaker dollar it has increased by $200! Here is your chance to take part in this historical event and perhaps help your favorite design win big-time. Time’s a-ticking - voting ends on Monday!

These finalists and other selected submissions will also be on display in the West Berlin Gallery from September 11th to 27th – printed on canvas - a great tribute to the often overlooked artistic value found in t-shirt design. The winning design will appear on a 47×47 in., the 11 other finalists on 32×32 in. and 40 additional contest designs on 16×16 in. canvases.

P.S. The design above is my favorite of the 12 - but, I could also imagine wearing this one. What are your favorites?

laFraise Redesigned - Opens with a €15,000 T-Shirt Design Contest

You may have followed it on Twitter. Perhaps you have already seen the news on Tee-Junction or on Hide Your Arms – but you will read it here too: laFraise has launched its new redesigned site with a big bang. Our strawberry-loving colleagues at laFraise have worked hard giving the site a make-over and thought it none better than to mark the event with one of the biggest prizes in t-shirt competition history.

This special contest is the second edition of the 15K contest, but with a big new twist. Instead of awarding 3 designers with €5,000 as they did last year, there will only be one winner to lay claim to the big bag of cash filled with €15,000. Whip out your calendar and multiply that by the current exchange rate of 1.397 and you’ve got a whopping $20,955. That’s a lot of dough. In addition to the cash, this lucky talented designer will have their design printed on 2,000 shirts and go down in t-shirt history.

Follow Us on Twitter, Help Us Test New Apparel

Our colleagues at Spreadshirt.net have been having a great time with testing and Twitter these days. They have come up with the Twardrobe project. I like the way that Andreas summarizes our testing process - we pretest harder than you party. We got some great feedback about the tests we did on the American Apparel t-shirts and how much they shrink after a trip through the dryer.

We are reaching out to you, our faithful Spreadshirt users to help us test some of the new items that we will be launching in the coming weeks.  We will be giving away some of these new items on Twitter in the next few days.  Here is how the Twardrobe works:

  1. Follow Spreadshirtcom on Twitter - http://www.twitter.com/Spreadshirtcom
  2. Check our Tweets - watch for an announcement about Twardrobe
  3. When you see a tweet about Twardrobe - reply to @spreadshirtcom with the word “absolutely”
  4. We will select one of the replies and send you one of the new apparel items for you to test
  5. Wear it, Share it, Wash It - and send us your feedback!
