Temple’s Tip: SEO Optimized Links

Temple’s Tip is a regular feature of the monthly Shop Partner Newsletter. Click here to see previous Tips from Temple.

Have you seen the new SEO optimized link structure for your shop? Freshly released and ready for optimizing, the new link structure can help improve your shop’s SEO and provide a shortened link structure in general.

Perhaps you are wondering about your current links in your coded navigations, the endless forums, blogs, and sites you have promoted your shop on…what will happen to those links?!? No worries, all current links will redirect to the new structure, so no need to update your signatures or shop plugs, customers will be redirected to where you intended! Although, if you would like to use the new structure, then check out this handy tutorial. Still need more details? Catch up on the specifics in the Forum.

Another treat: purchase your designed products without your added commission! With the upcoming holidays, you may be looking to gift some of your creations - now that is totally commission free! (Perhaps you recall before only Shop-Product Commission was removed and only when purchasing in a particular area of your account.) Now, your added Design commission and Shop-Product commission are removed when purchasing your creations, as long as you are logged into your Spreadshirt account! Once logged in, you can visit your Product Tab or your shop directly, choose your size, add to cart, and the price shown will be less your commissions!

Don’t forget - this month is a payout month! Make sure your Payment and Tax information are fully filled in under Profile > Member Account > Financial Administration!

Now those are some sweet treats for October!

Temple’s Tip - New Shipping Methods

Speedy Delivery

Image by Gary Denness via Flickr

Temple’s Tip is a regular feature of the monthly Shop Partner Newsletter. Click here to see previous Tips from Temple.

Last month we introduced a small change to our shipping method…the UPS Ground option was replaced by a new shipping method, Standard Shipping.

What does the new shipping method offer?

  • A third party, Mail Express, will facilitate the delivery of the packages from our facility to USPS, therefore the package would be delivered to the customer with their regular mail
  • Tracking included for all orders using this shipping method from pickup to delivery
  • Saturday delivery is available, as well as shipping to PO boxes. Since USPS delivers the final shipment, delivery would be the same as regular mail delivery times.
  • Shipping in the 48 contiguous states will take 1-5 mailing days from the time the orders leaves our doors, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and APO address can take up to 7 mailing days.
  • A lower shipping cost, check out the shipping prices for complete pricing list (http://www.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Service/Help-1328/categoryId/277/articleId/542).

No changes were made for the other shipping methods, so 3 Day Select, Next Day Air Saver, UPS International Premium, UPS Standard (Canada) and USPS International Economy have all remained the same. For an overview of all shipping methods, check out this helpful Shipping FAQ.

Update: In last month’s newsletter I discussed new fonts. Well the new fonts are live and available for you to use! For further font updates, check out the fonts topic on the Forum.

Temple’s Tip for July: Digital Designs

Temple is in charge of all things for Shops here at Spreadshirt. Each month she puts together her best ideas for the Temple’s Tip section of the newsletter (and I post them here on the blog).  This month has lots of great info so make sure you scroll down to the bottom!

Let’s talk about Digital Designs!

Many of you know we released a new digital print method, Digital Direct a couple months ago. Digital Direct is available on a limited number of products, but will soon replace both of the other printing methods. Note: When designing products with digital images, the Edit Design box below the product, will state the digital print method used. continue reading ‘Temple’s Tip for July: Digital Designs’

Temple’s Tip for May: Vector Pricing

templestips.jpg

Each month Temple puts together her best tips for your Spreadshirt shop for our newsletter. Past newsletters and tips are available here.

Vectors, Complexity, Specialty flex… Oh My! All with different pricing and combinations can be a bit confusing, so we have good news for you! New pricing!

Currently, vectors are priced based on the complexity level assigned to the design when approved by the Design Team. Each design is given a complexity level of simple, intricate, or super intricate and based on these levels a vector price will increase, and then add on two and three colors and pricing gets more complex!

New Feature for Products…Editing!

I know this has been one feature we have received a ton of requests for - edit and existing product. The wait is over, let the editing begin. Temple announced the arrival of product editing in the forums today, here are the details:

Today we released a new feature in the Shop Admin for your products. You can now edit an existing product or clone a product! Products can be altered for your shop or the Marketplace independently or both at the same time.

Editing a product to for replacement:

If you edit your product in the ?Product Overview? screen, it will be altered in both your shop and within the Marketplace (assuming that your product has been opened in both areas).

Here?s how it works:: Your original product is deleted and replaced by the new product (e.g. with a new color or alternate design). The editable attributes given to the old product (i.e. the commission rate, product name, etc) are automatically transferred to the new product. The product will get moved to the top of the ?Product Overview? list the same as every new product.

Editing a product to create a new version:

Please remember this will change your product in all areas. If you would prefer to change the product in just one of the selling areas (i.e. in your shop OR the marketplace) then simply use the small blue ?My Products? drop-down menu to the top left of the product overview screen and select either your shop or the marketplace.

If you want create new version of a pre-existing product WITHOUT deleting the original, then click on the ‘Clone Product’ option. A copy of the product will be provided which you can then change according to your desires. Great for creating the same design layout on different products, colors, etc!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Temple’s Tip: Shop Color Fun

Each month our amazing customer service specialist, Temple, shares her top tips for improving your shop. Click here to see past tips from Temple.

First, let’s discuss Colors! Choosing a color scheme can be a difficult task, but there are tools to make it a bit easier! Under Shops > Shop Layout > Colors and Fonts, you can choose from our predesigned color scheme or create your own with hex codes. One cool tool, the Color Combo Library , provides different palettes of colors that are complimentary. If you have a favorite hex code, then enter it and find a palette to fit your style! Another site, Color Match, allows you to choose from complimentary colors, analogic, and other choices to find your shop color scheme!
FireFox offers ColorZilla which is a browser add-on and provides the hex code to any color you select on your screen.

Temple’s Tip: Improved Free Color Selection

Here is another tip that Temple put together for the February Shop Partner newsletter.

We have another improvement for all Spreadshops! The Free Color Selection has improved for your customer’s buying experience. For products with Free Color Selection activated, when your customer chooses a different color for the product and adds the product to their cart, then the Basket view of the product will update with the chosen color. Your customers will be able to see their chosen color with the design before purchase! Not sure where to find the Free Color Selection? Go to the Product Tab in your admin choose your Shop id from the drop down, then click on the Details link under the product. Free Color Selection is an option on the detail page!

The new Premium My Order page for your customers!

Now when a customer places an order in your Premium Shop, they will receive in their order confirmation email a link to check their order on your shop… helping to create Your Own Label! The Premium emails were released a few months ago to include Your Shop Name in them and now the My Order link has also been included in the appropriate emails, such as Shipping Confirmation, Order confirmation, etc.

The link will look like: http://YourShopName.spreadshirt.com/us/US/Shop/Myorder/

Temple’s Tip: Direct Deposit Now Available

templestips.jpg

In the newsletter, Temple, our Shop Specialist shares a tip to improve your shop. This month’s announcement! Direct Deposit is now available for payments. Your money can be sent directly to your bank account.

We implemented a Direct Deposit feature for US partners to receive their commission! Only partners with US banking information can use Direct Deposit at this time. PayPal is still offered for all partners, but if you would like another option, then you can start collecting through Direct Deposit. Enter your details under Profile - User Account - Financial Administration.

Some important things:
Must be a Checking Account, as savings accounts can not be used.
Entering your Banking Information will remove your PayPal information, so you can only fill out one of the payment options. Which ever option is filled out at the time of payout will be where the commissions are transferred to.

International partners would have to use PayPal, unless you have a Checking Account in the US.

Routing number is generally 9 digits. Both the Routing and Account number can be found on the bottom of your checks. The Routing number is generally the first number and the Account number the second set of numbers. Some banks do list the check number on the bottom, as well. If you have any doubts or questions, then double check with your bank to make sure.

Payments are processed through ACH (Automated Clearing House), also known as EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), which is just an electronic way for us to transfer your earnings!

Cool new option for those who wanted a choice with how they collect their money! No fees apply, so if you do get fees with PayPal, then switching to Direct Deposit will avoid these fees!

Have a Happy New Year!

Temple’s Tip: Searching for Hot Stuff

TempleWith the upcoming Holiday season many are getting their shop and new products ready. The next shopping craze will be Halloween, then of course the biggest shopping sensation of the year…Christmas. Besides getting your designs and new products ready, check out what the world is searching for.

Two search results I found interesting were:

Yahoo! Buzz can give you the top searches in several different categories, such as TV, movies, sports, etc. Each list provides the top leaders and movers. The leader list offers the top searches and the number of days they have been on the list.

Google Trends will provide the top 100 searches of the day. Change the date to go back a few days or compare specific search phrases to each other. Comparison between Funny T-shirts and T-shirts returns a line chart to compare and region selection to see what your state or country is searching for.

Top searches can help get customers to your site, but simply adding T-shirts to your Key Words does not mean you will be selling 20 shirts tomorrow. Search Engine Optimization is still a major part of getting your shop noticed. Search Engine Guide provides some great tips and information about optimizing your site and keywords. Start optimizing now, so your shop can have better findings when the Internet Shopping season is in full swing!

Happy Optimizing!

Temple
