We took some time today to look a through our statistics and see if we could come up with something useful for our designers. We certainly found exactly that when we looked at some of the searches that were done recently in the Marketplace. We found various search terms with a lot of searches where only a few purchases were made by the customers after getting the results.
This means that we need more designs and better products for these particular searches. Then, the Spreadshirt customers will have a better chance of finding what they want, which then would hopefully show up in your next commission payouts.
Here are some of the searches where we need more designs and products:
• Peace
• Wings
• Music
• Love
• Skulls
• Dance
• Guns
• Blood
• Money
• States
• Beach
• Diamond
• Girl
• Wolf
Also, if you need some inspirations for Marketplace articles, here are some great websites with cool t-shirt slogans we found while browsing the net:
• Time’s T-Shirt Worthy Slogans
• Humorist Shirt Slogans
• Fun with words
• Stokely.com
Feel free to post links to your designs/articles as comments, once you made some. Happy designing!

This is great info!
It might be worth it to do this monthly.

Are these statistics just for the EU site? I am very familiar with the US MP and most if not all of those examples listed above have plenty of designs on the US side. What is needed is not suggestions on what to add, but a better system of keeping poor designs out of the Marketplace to begin with. Then the customer will have a much easier experience finding the 100’s of nicely designed skulls, wings, hearts, guns, etc, that are already there.
Insaneart, these statistics are only for the US. For Germany, for example, there are different search terms as you can see in the German blog post.
Yes, most of the search terms do have a lot of designs. However, our users do not seem to like them as much, as mentioned in the post and by yourself. Therefore, these search terms do need better designs (or designs that the customer likes better).
Regarding search terms which are searched a lot, but return only few results. That’s a good idea and we will post those at some point as well.
