More Products Available for Digital Direct Printing!

Here is a list of new colors and products that will be available for digital direct printing starting tomorrow (12/11/08) and some important info for anyone that has a shop with Spreadshirt about these new items and digital direct printing.  We have also posted information about this in our forum.

Hello Spreadshirt Users,

As you may know, Spreadshirt offers several printing methods for our digital images, Digital Direct being the newest, which until now has only been available for a limited range of products. The goal for Digital Direct is to eventually phase out the other digital printing methods, Digital Transfer and Digital Transfer Overlay. In order to do this, we are extensively testing all products for Digital Direct. For a list of current available products for Digital Direct, please visit this helpful FAQ.

We are happy to announce that several products have completed our testing process, just in time for the holiday season! The following products will be available for Digital Direct printing tomorrow.

• Women’s Heather Jersey Tee
• Women’s Plus Size Wide Strap Tank
• Toddler T-Shirt
• Men’s Hemp Tee
• Unisex Tie Dye T-Shirt
• Unisex Organic Heather Tee

Also, the following products, which have only been available in white for Digital Direct printing, will now be available in all colors…

• Men’s Muscle Tee
• Men’s Organic Jersey Tee
• Men’s Long Sleeve Tee
• Women’s V-Neck T-Shirt
• Women’s Spaghetti Strap Tank
• Women’s Long Sleeve Jersey Tee
• Women’s Maternity Top
• Junior’s Cap Sleeve Tee
• Junior’s Aerobic Top
• Junior’s Organic Jersey T-Shirt

Finally, the Female Longer Length tank will be added for Digital Direct printing in white only.

Since switching these products to our Digital Direct printing method will affect articles in your shop we wanted to give you some important information before we activate Digital Direct for these products:

• Products that are already designed using Digital Transfer or Digital Transfer Overlay will automatically switch over to the Digital Direct printing method in your account, so you don’t have to recreate the products.
• You will want to check the pricing and your commission though, as Digital Direct print adds $4.50 to the cost of the product, which is $1.50 cheaper than digital images on colored apparel and $1.50 more on white apparel with digital images.
• Digital Direct uses 200 dpi, so your current uploaded digital images may appear smaller when using Digital Direct, as Digital Transfer only requires a dpi of 120. This will be apparent in Designer Shops and depends on the dpi of the original uploaded image.

We are still continuing to test Digital Direct to eventually replace all products with the new technology, but wanted to release some new product types for you to utilize in your shop and the Marketplace.
