Happy Video Game Day

Thanks to the folks at Kirtsy (Kirtsy used to be called sk*rt and is a social book mark site that is kind of like digg) I learned that today, July 8, is Video Game Day.  No one seems to know where Video Games Day came from but Kirtsy is celebrating all week long (and giving away 4 Nintendo DS systems - all you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite video game - mine is Dr. Mario).  To celebrate Video Game Day - here are some great designs that honor the video game from the Spreadshirt marketplace.

I like the pixelated look of the Classic Invaders

This shirt is simple - but it is very video game

I think this Insert Coin design is also mighty fine.

What is your favorite video game t-shirt?

149 T-shirt Blogs

In November I wrote about the Hide Your Arms mega list of 65 t-shirt blogs. Andy the amazing author behind Hide Your Arms has updated the list to an amazing number of 149 T-shirt Blogs. I am trying to update my google reader to see which ones I am missing.

This list is amazing, thank you Andy for providing a short bio and an update frequency for each of the blogs.

What are you favorite t-shirt blogs?

The History of The T-Shirt & Shirts with History

I was browsing around T-shirtMagazine.com (see past blog posts about T-shirt Magazine here) and I stumbled across this history of the t-shirt.

Here are 3 things I learned about the t-shirt from this article:

  • there are many theories about what it is called a “t-shirt”
  • t-shirts did not become a wardrobe staple until after WWI
  • the first campaign t-shirt was created after WWII

Here are some other places that sell shirts with a history:

TV T’s - My Boys

I thought it was time for another post about t-shirts on the big screen. This time I am expanding to television. I have been noticing some great t-shirts on the TBS show MyBoys. The character Brendan (and some of the other characters) is wearing a great t-shirt in almost every scene.

It turns out that many of these t-shirts are from the shop WornFree.com - they resurrect and sell vintage t-shirts.

What other tv shows and movies have great t-shirts?
