I'm currently using http://twitterfeed.com/ - you tell it where to find the RSS feed from the blog, give it your twitter account details, and then - on a period basis - it updates twitter. In that way updating the twitter account is as simple as writing a blog post.

I setup an account for my TShirt blog/Spreadshirt storefront Militant Geek on Twitter - http://twitter.com/militantgeek . Currently I just republish the blog entries from MilitantGeek onto the twitter feeds; it just gives people a different way of getting the information since not everyone cares to check the site daily or setup RSS.

If I had more time to dedicate to the site I would probably do more 'Twitter fans only' promotional type geek ideas - things that could leverage the fact that people are able to get these updates at any time over a mobile phone - limited run shirts after a Apple keynote, or something. I'm sure there's something there but I haven't thought it all the way through. I'd love to hear other's ideas on these lines.
