TwitterFeed - Automatically Send Your Feed to Your Twitter Account

Thanks to Matthew of MilitantGeek for sharing this great idea in the comments.

Twitterfeed lets you add an RSS feed that automatically updates your twitter feed.  Plus it lets you customize how often updates are posted.  I have set this up for the Spreadshirt blog.  I haven’t tried this yet but I think you could also add your rss feed for your shop to Twitterfeed.

How are you using twitter to promote your shop or talk about t-shirt?

Text for Your Neck

I just found this scarf featured on the Craft blog.

Since we are big fan’s of *text t-shirts here at Spreadshirt, I thought this was worth sharing.  I really like  the way the letter look when they are smooshed together like they are in the scarf.  I think you could so some really great t-shirt designs with some text like that. Julie M. - It’s a comfortable shirt. I’m not crazy about Jim Beam but it will do.

Row 2:
Amy - I love my baby. Her name is Sage Marie. She is a Libra and is 11 ½ years old. Her favorite color is hot pink and just loves pretzels.

Tim - I have a collection of t-shirts. They are the most comfortable thing I have. Some represent times in my life or things that I like. This is a cool band.

My Top 3 Favorite T-shirts - Happy T-shirt Day

It is now officially T-shirt Day!  Happy T-shirt Day to you!  I decided that I couldn’t choose just one favorite t-shirt so I am going to share my top 3.

Here are my top 3 favorites t-shirts from top to bottom:

  1. PGH love t-shirt - this is my favorite Spreadshirt t-shirt, a subtle way to show which part of the state of PA is my favorite.  I love the gold metallic  on the black t-shirt.
  2.  nantucket t-shirt - I love this t-shirt because it was a gift from my friend rachel. this t-shirt is really starting to wear and it is super soft. I almost always take it with me when I travel.  It is from the t-shirt shop Anne and the Tees.
  3. Steeler Nation - this is my one Steelers t-shirt and I love it. This t-shirt was designed by my friends at Commonwealth Press.  I love the silhouettes of the fans waving their terrible towels.  I love this t-shirt soo much that I only wear it on very special occasions because I never want it to wear out.

We want to see your favorite t-shirts (it doesn’t have to be a Spreadshirt)!  Please post to flickr and add the tag tshirtday08.  Currently there are 43 pictures with the tag tshirtday08 on Flickr - I hope we will see at least 100!  Not a flickr user?  not a problem - just email me your picture lpa -at - spreadshirt.com with a brief description and I will add it to flickr.

Recycled Inspiration from TeeCycle

I have been getting email updates from the amazingly fantastic blog TeeCycle.org.  Every day they post a recycled t-shirt that they have recovered for sale.  They have some great t-shirts for sale and they aren’t alot of money.  But as I keep looking at these awesome t-shirts, I realized that this is a great site to check out for some t-shirt design inspiration.  These vintage t-shirts do a great job of communicating a message and it is a great place to check out some color combinations.  I really like the blue on this grey t-shirt and I would have never thought of that color combo myself.

They have really nice pictures and often funny commentary about the t-shirts.  I highly recommend signing up for their daily email.

Here are some other blogs that are loving TeeCycle.org:

140-characters-of-fun

140 Characters of Fun

Text messaging seems to be the topic of conversation in many areas of my life.  I was just having a conversation last week with some other web developer friends about if texting creating a significant change in the way we communicate.  I was actually in their office because they are including me in a new project they are working on about texting local events.  I will post more on that when it becomes live.

But texting is here and you can exchange a lot of great info in 140 characters and it offers an opportunity for you to share info about your shop and your favorite t-shirts in a quick way.   Here are some texting related tools things to check out:

  • Plurk - new to the playing field, I have seen alot of talk about this lately.  Kind of like twitter - but more features.  Check out this post on Problogger about the difference between twitter and Plurk.
  • Summize - this lets you search what other people are twittering - want to see if anyone twittered about your shop - just run a search in Summize and check it out.  Click here to see what people are twittering about Spreadshirt.com.  Chris Brogan talked about Summize in his post on listening today - he uses the term listening as a way of talking about what people are saying about you or your site or your shop.  Check out the post here for some other great ideas.

Follow Spreadshirt on Twitter:

  • Spreadshirtcom - yep - we have a twitter feed.  I try to post something once a week - especially new coupon codes - a super easy way to stay up to date with Spreadshirt
  • Jeggers - Jana is the CEO of Spreadshirt - she has a great blog (LifeonaShirt.com) but she doesn’t get a chance to update it all the time. Twitter is a quick way to see what she is up to - I just learned she was sitting in traffic this am- and she also posts interesting business bits.  I am going to text her at Twitter right now to learn more about where I can read more about Zappos.

Do you have a Twitter account for your shop?  To you tweet about your shop or t-shirts?  How do you use texting on daily basis.
