Last week when I stopped by the production facility the good folks who check the quality of every t-shirt mentioned that there have been a number of t-shirts for this website WhatTheFolk.net. WhatTheFolk.net is the website for the music duo turned tv starts Flight of the Concords. The dou hails from New Zeland and their show is giving Entourage a run for their money.

Here is how they describe Flight of the Concords:

“New Zealand’s 4th most popular guitar-based digi-bongo acapella-rap-funk-comedy folk duo”. Now they are “the almost award-winning fourth-most-popular folk duo in New Zealand.”

They have some great looking t-shirts in their shop and most of them are just text with sayings from their show.

Last week I posted a music video that featured some great t-shirts. Alex has just sent me another one that is pretty rad. This video is for the song “Selfish Jean” by the Scottish band Travis. From the Selfish Jean Wikipedia page (yes - there is a wikipedia page for the song)

It is produced by and features comedian Demetri Martin. Martin begins by wearing 19 t-shirts with words and pictures to illustrate lyrics from the song, taking them off to progressively reveal the t-shirts underneath. Some of these t-shirts have been recreated for sale, including ‘Aaaaaaaaaahhh… Selfish Jean’ (Stretching from the back and rotating around to the front) and ‘Art, Music, Jaffa Cakes’ (With additional tick boxes) proving very popular amongst fans.

If you watch the video until the end- I am a big fan of the hoodie he wears in the end with the words “Good Bye” across the back.

You may or may not know that Spreadshirt was born in Germany.  While I am writing to you from the US and we have  full production capabilities in the US.  We have offices and production in Germany.  Yesterday, Jana was telling us about some of our german counter parts and threw in some german words.  So I thought it might be fun to add an occasional post with some German words so we can add some international flavor to our blog.  So we will start with an easy one…

While I was double checking the spelling of danke, I came across this fun fact - danke is the anagram of naked.

Hide Your Arms, a blog about shirts with sleeves, has a post about these Space Invader hoodies that are featured on The Cool Hunter.

I love this space invader design - we have one very similar here at Spreadshirt. I have ordered a shirt with this design in flock before but I am loving the neon. Check out this cool idea from the Spreadshirt office in Germany.  Early this month they set up a booth at the Leipzig town fair (Leipzig is the town in Germany where the Spreadshirt office is located).  They ran a long closeline with t-shirts from the office to the booth to show off the t-shirts and so that everyone could find the Spreadshirt booth.  They even set up a printer so people could make shirts on the spot.  You can check out more pictures of the clothes line and both at the Spreadshirt UK blog.

I’m back and I’ve got t-shirts for everyone!!

T-shirts and music go together like peanut butter and jelly.  This go me thinking - are there any songs about t-shirts.  I can’t think of any off the top of my head so I thought I would see if anyone else knew of any popular songs about t-shirts.
