T-shirt Tag: Kristina

The Spreadshirt team has been designing some amazing looking t-shirts for our game of t-shirt tag (one person gets to make a t-shirt then tags another employee to make a shirt).

Kristina, who is the master of the Spreadshirt product assortment choose one of the designs from the Spreadshirt designer to put on the American Apparel Juniors t-shirt.  This shirt looks awesome with the silver flex on the blue t-shirt.  Kristina said the hardest part of ordering was selecting a design for her shirt.

Improving Navigation

There is lots of good info in the Spreadshirt Forums, if you have not stopped by it is worth a look.  I just wanted to point out one of these tips I think is really helpful.  Temple has provides some links and sample code on how you can create sidebar navigation for your site.

Check out the HTML & Web Coders Advice Section of the forum for the details and more great tips.

Flock Rocks

Flock is just super cool and I don’t talk about it enough.  I was just reading through some blog posts about Spreadshirt - thanks to all of you who write such nice things about us.  Over on LiveJournal Gobi was writing about Spreadshirt and put up a description of flock, so I thought I would go ahead and repost our description of flock here:

What is Flock Print Type?
A polyurethane backed material that has a raised fuzzy texture.  Heat pressed at 354 degrees the material permanently adheres to the fibers of the garments.  Flock is guaranteed not to fade or crack for up to 18 months.  Ideal for certain designs or text that only contain one color.  Available in 13 colors.

The way I usually describe flock is “that fuzzy retro print that you would find on t-shirts from the 1980;s, but way better because Spreadshirt flock doesn’t peel off.”  My friend Genny and I once discovered some flock & glitter iron on letters at Wallmart, which of course we bought and went home to customize our shirts.  I really wish I knew about Spreadshirt, because it took us forever to get those darn letters on to that shirt (who knew you had to prewash the t-shirts, use 3 irons and have a 9 text books to keep those letters on) and after 2 washings half of the letters were peeling off.  I have tried to peel the flock off of a Spreadshirt shirt - you can’t do it.  We have some experts in QC (thats our code for Quality Control) they won’t let your shirt leave the building if your design looks like it would peel off.

T-shirt Tag: Fishin with Amy

More shirts designed by Spreadshirt staff. Amy created this awesome fishing t-shirt (she choose the American Apparel melange t-shirt “because it looked comfortable.”

When asked about her Spreadshirt ordering experience her response fit right in with the fishing theme…

I really enjoyed the experience. I couldn’t wait to wear my shirt. I’m HOOKED on Spreadshirt.

The wait is over

News subscription via shirts

One of the cool things about Spreadshirt is that we connect the online stuff with the offline stuff. So much of the web is all on the web. Spreadshirt allows you to take some of the best parts of web tools and create a t-shirt, which is totally off-line. My friend Brooke, who is a maven of style and all things cool, sent me this link to dork magazine this morning. dork magazine has some cool stuff and is worth a look. The article Brooke sent is about T-post, which takes this online offline collaboration a step further. T-post is a t-shirt subscription service - every 6 weeks they send you a new t-shirt based on something in the news. I really like the idea of artists interpreting the news.

Put a lid on it

I was just reading the latest, well first ever, ThreadBanger newsletter which points out that this weeks episode of ThreadHeads is about hats.  Which reminded me about the awesome new hat that will soon be available at Spreadshirt.com.

All I can say is that a new hat is coming soon.  Stay tuned to the blog/forum for updates.

T-shirt Tag: Jamie

Here at Spreadshirt we have a little game of tag running where one employee gets the tag shirt, they order their very own t-shirt and then they select another person (in a different department) to tag with the tag shirt.

Here is Jamie wearing Jamie on his shirt:

Sleeve:

Item ordered: White with Black ringer with black flex on back and sleeve

Why the ringer shirt? I had a dream and Big Bird told me to order the white & black ringer. Usually Big Bird is fun & easy going, but trust me, you do not want to make Big Bird angry.

Tell us about your design: Chump is the #1 word of all time followed by mutant. The design on the back is a vectorized image of me because I am pretty cool.
