Temple’s Tips: Creating a two color flock design
So, you have a two color vector design that you’d like to print in flock. But will it work?
Some two color designs can’t be printed in flock. Why? Since flock is slightly raised and fuzzy, flock can’t be printed on top of flock… the top color won’t adhere to the bottom color. To make a two color vector design work in flock, you need to use inlaid designs, which fit together like a puzzle.
Here’s a visual to help you understand the concept. The second image in the picture would produce flock being pressed directly on top of flock, which will not work. The third design can be printed in flock.
If you already have two color designs in your shop, check to see if they’ll work with flock by clicking on the magnifying glass next to the design. Download the file and then open it to see if you’re overlapping or not. If you are overlapping, you shouldn’t use the design with flock. If you really want the design printed in flock, you should upload a corrected version of the design.
