Is Google getting stingy? Max 2 T-Shirts for their people!

This is an interesting tid bit on T-shirts at Google. Reading the comments, I learned that Google t-shirts are (or were?) a rare commodity. Does anyone know the story behind t-shirts and Google?

This sign is from the “tshirt cabinet” that is randomly stocked with free shirts throughout the week. It’s there to remind Googlers that they shouldn’t take the whole stack of shirts as soon as they see it’s stocked. In practice it’s ignored because there’s a class of people who selfishly hoard free stuff no matter what it is.

Don’t worry, Googlers get free tshirts through many other avenues. After a couple of months you have a closet full and don’t want any more (unless they’re high stylin).
