Its Hunting Season

T-shirt hunting season. The good folks at Spreadshirt UK have taken The Draw to a whole new level of fun with The Hunt. They have hidden 300 t shirts around the World (yes there are t-shirts hidden in the US too), and they’re waiting for you to find them. The locations and clues are at this site. You have to leave one of your own old t shirts ni the same place as you find the new one!

T-shirt to Keyboard Cover

I am facinated by other uses for t-shirts (see my earlier post on the company that will turn your favorite t-shirt into a speedo-like swimsuit.  So here is a nice little set of instructions from Instructables on how to turn a t-shirt into a keyboard cover for your laptop.  They suggest using an extra schwag t-shirt but I think this a great use for a shirt that is wearing out or has a bleach spill on the sleeve, or some other laundry catastrophy.

Is Google getting stingy? Max 2 T-Shirts for their people!

This is an interesting tid bit on T-shirts at Google. Reading the comments, I learned that Google t-shirts are (or were?) a rare commodity. Does anyone know the story behind t-shirts and Google?

Hip Hip Blog

Check out the blog HipHipUK for more great t-shirts.  HipHipUK is Adam Fletcher’s blog about t-shirts.  Adam now works for Spreadshirt but still reports on all sorts of t-shirts.  I really like some of the interviews with other people from the t-shirt world, that Adam has posted.

The Sign of the Shirt

One of my favorite t-shirts to make in the Spreadshirt designer are the ones using symbols.  It doesn’t take much to make me happy in the land of t-shirts.  But it is super easy to make a shirt with arrows and text.  Just check out “Symbols and Emblems” in the Spreadshirt designer.   I have just come across two cool websites that make it super easy to make your own signs.

Meet the Shop Partner: Audrey from DateAudrey.com

Audrey, has a Spreadshirt shop for her blog DateAudrey.com. You can also read more about Audrey at her other blog NotASprint.com, where she writes about training for the NYC marathon and lots of other awesome stuff. I have learned so much - I didn’t even know there was an Andrew Wilson. And we are huge fans of your race day t-shirt, Josh talks about bringing sexy back almost every day (I even wrote a whole post about the sexy t-shirt.) I also learned that SexyBack has it own Wikipedia entry, and it is quite an extensive entry. Cool.

How is the dating experiment going? Can you tell me more about the whole project? Why did you decide to set up a website?
It’s not really that great of a story — and it was more of a dating “pop quiz” than full-fledged experiment. (For the full-fledged experiment, I’d recommend www.settleforbrian.com.)
I blame the whole thing on my friend Frank (www.hirefrank.com) - he talked me into signing
up for The Washington Post Magazine’s weekly DateLab feature and then, when I got picked to go on a blind date, he set up the blog as a joke to embarrass me. I thought it was hilarious though.

What is your favorite t-shirt in your shop? Why?

Anyway, my favorite shirt in my shop is the DateAudrey.com hearts in a blender, largely
because it’s my only shirt (if there were NotASprint shirts, they’d
surely be my favorite!).

What celebrity would you want to wear your t-shirts?
And if I had to pick any celebrity to wear my shirts, it would have to be the Wilson brothers — all of them, Luke, Owen and the lesser known Andrew.

The Power of PodCamp

and more press about Spreadshirt. Pop City Media, a Pittsburgh e-newsletter, has a great write-up about PodCamp Pittsburgh with a mention of Spreadshirt and a picture of me holding up a “Pittsburghers are tasty” t-shirt, made by Spreadshirt, of course.

UK airport cop: gun-shaped shirt decoration is illegal

This is an interesting question. Should the design on your t-shirt be considered a security threat?

“I was coming into Birmingham on transit to Singapore from Palma when I was stopped by a customs officer. I was wearing a stripy jumper with the shape of a pink gun sewn on to the front.” Look at the picture. Would you feel threatened by this?
