I have seen a number of post for this project in my daily google for “Spreadshirt.com” - Matthew Reinbold has set up a Spreadshirt shop called MilitantGeek.com. Militant Geek is has a pretty nifty collection of t-shirts related to computers and some funny parodies of top computer companies. Matthew also has a poll running where people can vote on the next t-shirt design.
What is really interesting is Matthew’s blogBloomBurst, where he writes about his shop. MilitantGeek.com is Matthew’s Online Business Experiment. Here are the guidelines he has set up for the experiment:
The rules are simple:(1) I can’t spend more than $50, (2) must be software development related (3) built ‘in the margins’ (the three hours or so after my toddler goes to bed) and (4) needs to make a car payment by October 1st (net revenues of $495.01). It’s all part of an experiment in how far some talent, determination, and web based dinking can go. The project is MilitantGeek.com, a geek T-shirt site with bite.
So far, there are 11 entries about “the experiment” - Matthew offers some helpful insight on how you can improve your shop. So surf on over to MilitantGeek.com and help Matthew with his online business experiment. If anyone has any ideas for Matthew, leave a comment here or email them to me lpa@spreadshirt.com and I will send them over.

Thanks for the mention! For other shop owners out there make sure you have a photo you like readily available in case the SpreadShirt Blog comes linking. That photo is the non-threatening ‘professional’ pic from my web design and development firm (http://voxpopdesign.com) - big kudos to Lindsay for following the links back to find it.
I’d love any feedback that experienced shop owners might have. I’m new to the custom TShirt shops but thought I’d give it a try because it looked fun. There are probably some obvious gaffs with my store - I’d love to hear what they are and how others have fixed them.
You may be interested in also knowing that he uses his site blog on MilitantGeek to possibily libel other successful business owners, without checking facts or even contacting the person - just rants and makes injurious statements. And to think, his business website says “[his company] is passionate about helping small business succeed on the web. Whether its a website, custom application development, or integration with other web based services Vox Pop wants be your online partner.” Guess that’s not true, then?
Thought you might want to know, since you are endorsing his site.
Thank you for your time.
