laFraise Unveils 15K Contest Winner

As some of you might have read on laFraise’s blog, the winner of one of the largest online design competition prizes ever awarded was announced yesterday. As you can see from the 12 finalists, there was some tough competition to rake in the €15,000.

And then there were 12: Round 2 for laFraise’s 15K Contest

On Monday, laFraise revealed the 12 designs which made it into the second round of the €15,000 Contest. From the 4,000 submissions, 800 were approved for the contest – but to then choose 12 from the 800 was certainly not the easiest of tasks. These 12 were chosen based on their score, the amount of pre-orders, the community’s comments, the design’s overall quality and laFraise’s personal taste. And now these 12 are up for another round of votes.

The winner of the contest will become the proud recipient of one of the biggest prizes ever awarded in t-shirt design contest history. Here is your chance to take part in this historical event and perhaps help your favourite win big-time. Time’s a-ticking - voting ends on Monday!

These finalists and other selected submissions will also be on display in the West Berlin Gallery from 11th to 27th September – printed on canvas - a great tribute to the often overlooked artistic value found in t-shirt design. The winning design will appear on 120×120 cm, the 11 other finalists on 80×80 cm. and 40 additional contest designs on 40×40 cm.

P.S. The design above is my favourite of the 12 - but, I could also imagine wearing this one. What are your favourites?

laFraise Relaunches with a €15,000 Special Contest

You may have followed it on Twitter. Perhaps you have already seen the news on Tee-Junction or on Hide Your Arms – but you will read it here too: laFraise has launched its new redesigned site with a big bang. Our strawberry-loving colleagues at laFraise have worked hard giving the site a make-over and thought it none better than to mark the event with one of the biggest prizes in t-shirt competition history.

This special contest is the second edition of the 15K contest, but with a big new twist. Instead of awarding 3 designers with €5,000 as they did last year, there will only be one winner to lay claim to the big bag of cash filled with €15,000. This lucky talented designer will have their design printed on 2,000 shirts and go down in t-shirt history.

Social Media Contest Extended to Monday

Some of the recent submissions for the Social Media special contest from laFraise and Spreadshirt have been great. So, we decided to move the submission deadline from today to Monday, June 1st.

As a little extra motivation for all designers, Spreadshirt CEO Jana Eggers spontaneously introduced a special CEO prize. She will award her favourite design which:

  • helps people promote their social media identity
  • in a fun and cool way
  • with an eye-catching design

with an Amazon Kindle - which, for those who haven’t heard of it, is a brand new digital reading device that allows you to read electronic books, magazines, newspapers and blogs on the run.

The Kindle is currently only available in the States so that the winner will be among one of the few first Europeans to hold it in their hands. Keep those great designs coming and get them in by Monday!

It’s that time of year again – where the warm weather provides many reasons for celebration. 21 June is action-packed this year – not only is it both Father’s Day and the official start of summer, but also International T-Shirt Day. Just like last year we are teaming up with laFraise for a special competition where the winner can rake in a prize of €1,500. The theme of this year’s competition:

Social Media isn’t exactly something you could normally put your hands on, but rather has become the corners of the net which some call their second home, like:
