Shop-partner Spotlight - Modesty, Festivalshirts.net style.

Modesty is massively over-rated. When you move abroad you realise just how modest the Brits are. We skirt around problems, downplay everything, don’t cause a fuss, never blow our own trumpet, if we do something good it must have been luck. Time for all that to stop, lets get a little more European, or even American (shudder ;) with the help of a new Spreadshirt store Festivalshirts.net and this little, modest beauty:

Spreadshirt @ Barry’s Farm

Barry's farm logo

Gift headaches are a thing of the past once you discover Barry’s Farm. Its saved my bacon (last potential farm reference I promise) on many a birthday occasion, particularly with the fairer sex. Today thanks to shop oracle Pete we discovered Barry’s farm has a Spreadshirt shop. So great designs coupled with Spreadshirt’s quality and quick delivery time.
Check out these:

Computer Love and Working Hard
€20 & €18 a piece

On the left its “Computer Love” depicting the oh so cute scenario of a computer falling in love with a toaster. On the right its the kidney themed “Working hard boss”. But wait, there’s more, how about one for the women - “fudgesicle”:

fudgesicle
€18.00. Awesome, plenty more to give you design inspiration in the Barry’s farm shop

It would be good to start featuring some more of your creations here. What is everyones favorite Spreadshirt shop/design (excluding your own store)? There are bound to be some gems we haven’t blogged about yet…

Celebrity Big Brother mayhem!

Unless you’ve been sleeping in a fallout bunker six miles under the earth’s surface, it will be impossible to have not noticed the mayhem that’s currently surrounding Celebrity Big Brother. The current season of CBB has become such a phenomenon, it’s even become political - being commented on by Gordon Brown and Tony Blair - who of course promise us they’ve never seen the show (lying politicians!).

Topical Shop: Raf* Bey

The only thing that seems particularly clear about this current Lebanon situation is that it is a terrible situation for the Lebanese. Sounds like double-talk, but the more stories you hear about their economy just being rebuilt after years of conflict, finally getting in tourists, and the infrastructural damage being caused, someone needs to be looking out for them.

In comes Raf* Bey who has made up some “Lebanon will Stay” shirts. As he writes:

i have some issues with quite a few of those in the “anti-war” crowd since they are opposing the israeli way of seeing the world in a black/white fashion by using their own. so i thought about a slogan that would be entirely positive, not connected to any particular political group, and do something about the PEOPLE, not the political leaders or military.

He gains no profit on the shirts, just wants to raise awareness for the cause and to raise awareness about the aid groups: www.saveleb.org and www.lebanonrelief.org. For a longer explanation of the design read his blog entry.

New Beginings and Ending Careers

Topical Shop: 32 Ways

The fine arbiter of the website 32ways.co.uk Josh says of his shop: “I think the designs could sell thousands!” I happen to agree. Here is a little sampling of some of the gems:

Topical Shop: Republic

The website Republic: The Campaign for an Elected Head of State wants to get rid of the monarchy. Their website lists the philosophical reasons, action that must be taken, and why it must be done now. The idea: replace the monarchy with a presidency. I won’t take sides on this (we US citizens have enough on our plates at the moment), but it does make for some great t-shirts.

Check out the Republic.
Check out the shop.

Topical Shop: London Blitz

Finally, a break from football (UK) with football (US). From the fine people at London Blitz. They are serious about the sport, with training to get rookie players into the sport. Training sessions: “start at 10:30, and will finish at 14:00″. Yeek. But, they promise “the coaching staff will make the sessions enjoyable, we like a joke as well as anybody, but you will be there to work hard”. I imagine. I feel like I’m in high school cross-country training again just reading this. As a comfort for the hard work, though, there are some really great shirts. And really, is there anything better than lounging in comfy clothing after exhausting yourself for three and a half hours?

Topical Shop: Camberley Skaters

In time for summer, the roller (and inline, and quad) in Camberley and beyond, the Camberley Skaters website. With info on nutrition, training, skates, and “inline basketball rules” (!). And where to skate, and upcoming events. And some gear for enthusiasts:
