  2. Women’s Scoop Neck Racerback
  3. American Apparel Canvas Bag
  4. American Apparel Men’s Fleece Track Pants
  5. Dickies Women’s Splendid Shirt

We’ve also added great new colours to the Women’s Polo (pink, navy), to the Men’s Polo Shirt (peacock blue, dark red, charcoal) and to the Men’s Summer Shirt (peacock blue, graphite).

I Shot the Serif - New Fonts at Spreadshirt

“I shot the Serif, but I did not shoot the deputy.” I haven’t been able to get this song out of my head for the last few weeks, and for a good reason. We’ve taken the time to reflect a little on our fonts. I’ve since occupied myself with font characteristics like serifs, weight, slope, width, optical size, metrics and proportions, in addition to our internal statistics for our current font offerings. Which fonts are successful, which fonts are rarely used or seldom make it onto your shirts? Which fonts are used for which season (big surprise here, HoleHearted at the beginning of February, Halloween in October), as well as which fonts are ineffective regardless of season? The results: 52% of your ideas make it on shirts with only 6 of the 25 fonts we offer. Other fonts only make it onto your products 0.01% of the time.

Long story shirt short – spring summer cleaning for our font assortment:
Starting with about 200 fonts we filtered, discussed, deleted, replaced, plotted, weeded, reordered, re-discussed and finally put together a new set of fonts. Soon you will be able to get a fitting font for your favourite quote from the best Spaghetti Westerns of the last 50 years, just like you will have the right pixel font for your personal tribute to retro gaming. That’s just the tip of the iceberg, but be patient, wait and see – it won’t be much longer before you get your hands on these gems.

Winning T-Shirt Parties - Where will you be on T-Shirt Day?

As many of you know we called out to the t-shirt world to organise their own t-shirt celebrations and register on the T-Shirt Day website. We promised to equip 10 of these parties with sets of 10 t-shirts – and we shall follow through with that promise. The winners hail from 6 different countries and, depending on where you might find yourself on June 21st, you could join in on one of these events or one of the many others registered on the T-Shirt Day site. Here they are, in no particular order: continue reading ‘Winning T-Shirt Parties - Where will you be on T-Shirt Day?’

join-our-twitter-parade-and-win-10000-flyers-to-promote-your-shop

Join our twitter parade and win 10,000 flyers to promote your shop!

(original foto by cayusa)

Tomorrow on 10th of April we are starting up the first spreadshirt twitter parade! And what might that be, you ask?

- Every European Spreadshirt shop which is named more than 10 times by different twitter users between 10th and 20th April will receive a 10% discount for their shop for one week long.

- Every European Spreadshirt shop which is named more than 20 times by different twitter users will receive a 20% discount for their shop for one week long.

- If a European Spreadshirt shop is named more than 100 times by 100 different twitter users, we will do a photoshoot for the partner and print 10,000 flyers which will go out with our regular orders.

- The cherry on top: we give away 20 vouchers worth 20 EUR (18 GBP) to use in the own shop to all shopkeepers who participate and reach the 10 mark.

So, hang on and let’s go through this one more time in detail. Please read carefully if you would like to take part in the parade: continue reading ‘Join our twitter parade and win 10,000 flyers to promote your shop!’

twardrobe-we-pretest-harder-than-you-party

Twardrobe - we pretest harder than you party

It’s getting spring (well, at least a little bit, in Leipzig we had over 10° Celcius and a lot of rain on the weekend). Time for another round of our twardrobe. Huh, twardwhat? The twardrobe is our “be the first to try out exclusively” game on twitter. Here is how it works:

- You follow us on twitter.

- You check our tweets until we announce another round of our twardrobe

- You reply to us with “absolutely”. If you’re lucky (and located in Europe), we pull out your name - and you will be one of the first persons to test exclusively new items that we are listing in a month or so.

- We check back for your size and send you the products. You can keep them as long as you give us your feedback how you like them, for example a video, a foto or a report (German example from the first twardrobe).

If you hurry, you’ll be in this weeks game - this time, we’ll put the brandnew Earth Positive Shirts in the ring, as well as several of our new eco tote bags (all by Continental Clothing).

Spreadshirt closes a €10 million investment

Just a quick update on some good news: I’m happy to announce we closed an investment of 10 Mio Euro, led by Kennet and Accel Partners. Find more background information on Janas CEO Blog, and we also do have more details in the official Press release.

This is a great chance for us, and of course some of you are asking: what do you spend it for?

We don’t have detailed information yet, but I can assure you that we will use it to develop our platform further and grow our international footprint. Here is a list of our priorities for 2009:

  • Release features that give our Shop Partners opportunities for more “front doors” into their shops from across the Web.
  • Inspire our direct customers who wear their Spreadshirts and la Fraise shirts “every time they are clean” with new ideas for favorite shirts and gifts.
  • Enable top partners — like 2008 partners CNN, Nissan, Tchibo, and EA — to develop unique apparel offerings tailored to their audience.
  • Continued development of our apparel selection to offer personalization for fashionable clothes including, and beyond, the tee.
  • Ensure we deliver the above in a cost effective, responsible way taking into account the global economic environments and our core markets and businesses.

And just to begin with a rather small, but interesting and long requested feature by Premium Shoppartners: The feature that lets you create own categories and place different designs in different designer shops will be published soon. We’ll keep you up to date here and in the forum.

spreadshirt-without-paypal

Spreadshirt without PayPal ;(

Due to the fact that there have been problems with PayPal orders in the past, we decided to test the differences with or without PayPal in the checkout over the past few weeks. Our results have shown that most of our customers simply choose another payment method when PayPal isn’t offered. Comparatively, more customers abandon their order when we offer PayPal. Obviously, this isn’t in our best interests and needs more investigation.
Since the amount of PayPal orders is less than 10% and, as mentioned above, customers use other payment methods when PayPal wasn’t offered, we decided to shut down PayPal for customers in the checkout today. This affects all markets except for Canada, Poland and the United States.

We’d love to add Paypal again, since we still believe in the simplicity and convenience of this payment method, and we also think that our customers should be able to use their preferred payment from a variety of options.

We will investigate this further, but I can’t give you a solid timeframe, as making changes in the checkout (the most sensitive area in eCommerce) are very time consuming processes. We’ll keep you posted here and in the forum.

sunday-shopping-with-free-shipping

Sunday shopping with free shipping

Less than three weeks away and we might already be tired of Christmas jingles, the word x-mas and crowded stores.

That doesn’t save us from the fact that we still need gifts. For those who are saying to themselves “This is the year I will start shopping before Christmas Eve”, we have quite the tip for this upcoming weekend. Saturday: get out and grab some of that crisp winter air. Sunday: stay home and simply finish all of your shopping.

We’ve made your lazy Sunday even more convenient — with the voucher code “LAZYSUNDAY“, you will get all orders placed on Sunday, December 7th shipped for free. The voucher is valid in the T-Shirt Designer, on the Marketplace and in all shops.

I even have a gift idea for you: some might have already seen snow this winter, so our knitted mittens and caps certainly deserve a shout-out. They are from Vermont, which means that they are hand-made and extremely comfortable. And with a little creativity, mittens can be quite handy.
