Trend Report: T-Shirt Buyers’ Favourite Time to Shop

We decided to focus this month’s Trend Report on the shopping days and times which our buyers in Europe and North America most love to click on that buy button. Many of differences between North Americans and Europeans are well known, but some of these findings perhaps support those differences (siestas?) or provide us with insights (buying at work?).

North Americans like to part from their money best in the afternoon, whereas Europeans tend to hold on to their hard-earned cash well into the evening. The one exception in Europe are the Italians, who strongly increase their buying from 3 to 4 p.m. – nothing like a nice shirt purchase after a siesta, I guess. The average European really gets into the buying mood between 8 and 9 p.m.

You’ll find a detailed look at the shopping times on the other side of the big pond after the click.

North America: North Americans do most of their shopping on Spreadshirt between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. (perhaps making purchases at work when the boss isn’t looking?). Those on the West Coast like to make the pre-lunch purchase, especially those in Seattle and Vancouver. East-Coasters take their time and most make their purchases during the mid-day slump at 3 p.m. (boss on a coffee break, perhaps?), especially in Boston and Montreal. Speaking of the Canadians, they seem to be the night owls on the North American content when it comes to buying shirts: they are the sole leaders in the category from midnight to 6 a.m.

Europe: As we mentioned above, Europeans love buying shirts in the evening, but none are as active at night as the Norwegians who push that buy button at 10 p.m. more than any other. The Spanish and the Canadians have proven to have something in common - they like to buy shirts early in the morn’ while the rest of the world sleeps. Buyers in the UK fit right in there with the average European, making most of their purchases in the early evening and seem to be in bed between midnight and 6 a.m., rather than buying shirts.

So, when do you usually make purchases online?
