
It’s that time of year again – where the warm weather provides many reasons for celebration. 21 June is action-packed this year – not only is it both Father’s Day and the official start of summer, but also International T-Shirt Day. Just like last year we are teaming up with laFraise for a special competition where the winner can rake in a prize of €1,500. The theme of this year’s competition:
Take Social Media to the Streets!
Social Media isn’t exactly something you could normally put your hands on, but rather has become the corners of the net which some call their second home, like:
- Blogs
- Facebook (etc.)
- Flickr (etc.)
We are looking for the best t-shirt design which allows people to communicate their social media presence (nickname, name, URL, status update etc.) on a shirt. Create a design for laFraise and Spreadshirt which best and most concisely conveys social media and its importance for the individual.
Requirements for the design
- Create a design which entails the theme of social media as a new channel within popular culture.
- The design should be able to be personalised, that means space for names, status updates or URLs.
- The design cannot contain trademarked brand names or logos from Flickr, Facebook etc.
- To be judged, the vector graphics must appear on the Spreadshirt Marketplace and in the Social Media gallery on laFraise, and naturally they must also meet Spreadshirt’s requirements for vector graphics.
How do I take part?
Upload your design both to laFraise and to the user area on Spreadshirt. Once it has been approved by our Design Service, add it to Spreadshirt’s Marketplace by 28 May 2009. We also need you to please add the tag “tshirtday09” to your design (so we will be able to track down the submissions). You can then put it up on your Facebook page or market it with your preferred social media channel. The winner will be chosen by a jury of laFraise and Spreadshirt employees.
The Prizes
The winner receives €1,500. The design will be presented – live and in colour – on 21 June at our Open Runway in Berlin in celebration of the International T-Shirt Day. It will also appear in the August issue of VICE Magazine.
