Tomorrow on 10th of April we are starting up the first spreadshirt twitter parade! And what might that be, you ask?
- Every European Spreadshirt shop which is named more than 10 times by different twitter users between 10th and 20th April will receive a 10% discount for their shop for one week long.
- Every European Spreadshirt shop which is named more than 20 times by different twitter users will receive a 20% discount for their shop for one week long.
- If a European Spreadshirt shop is named more than 100 times by 100 different twitter users, we will do a photoshoot for the partner and print 10,000 flyers which will go out with our regular orders.
- The cherry on top: we give away 20 vouchers worth 20 EUR (18 GBP) to use in the own shop to all shopkeepers who participate and reach the 10 mark.
So, hang on and let’s go through this one more time in detail. Please read carefully if you would like to take part in the parade:
The spreadshirt Twitter Parade runs from 10th to 20th of April 2009. During this time we will count all unique tweets which are made for each European Spreadshirt partner shop.
What’s a unique tweet? We will only be counting tweets which come from different (unique) users and most importantly from real people. This means that we (and probably the other participants) will be taking a good look at the twitterer’s profile to prevent spam and cheating.
What happens if my shop is twittered more than 10, 20 or a 100 times? If your shop is named 10 or 20 times, you will receive the corresponding voucher code which is valid in your shop for one week. If a shop is tweeted more than 100 times, we will do a photoshooting (with our photographer and our models) here in Leipzig and will use products from that very shop. Of course, we will work together with the winner to set-up and design the flyer. The flyer will then be distributed in regular Spreadshirt orders (end customers and standard shop partner customers) and you will also be able to decide how many of the flyers you would like for yourself (i.e. 1,000 for you 9,000 for us). If more than one shop has reached the 100 mark at the end of the twitter parade we be shouting yipee and sending out virtual high-fives will make the decision by drawing lots.

We have tried to comment a couple of times on this blog over the weekend but nothing has appeared. Trying to clarify exactly what has to be tweeted - the Twitter name for the shop (ie @eyeheartrugby) the URL (www.eyeheartclothing.com) or a URL that includes a spreadshirt reference?
We’d like to get involved but would like to know exactly what counts!

hi eye heart clothing - I’m very sorry for the late response (I didn’t see a comment in moderation, but will check if sth. went wrong).
now for your question: you’ll have to include spreadshirt in any way - just to make sure we’ll find it and track it. (if you use @spreadshirt or #spreadshirt or just spreadshirt is up to you and doesn’t matter).
So it’s not enough to promote OUR shop - which has its own branding and unique url - we have to mention spreadshirt, and my shop in passing. I now need to come up with a message that I can ask others to tweet that mentions my shop and spreadshirt - all in 140 characters! Will work at it! Does the cut-off point come at midnight on the 20th April? German time or UK time?
if you are located in the UK, we’ll count the local (UK) midnight!
regarding the message - this is the tricky part, it seems. however, some partners in germany just posted
“Bei xyz gibt es ganz nette Shirts! #xyz #spreadshirt” (which roughly translates: “find nice shirts at xyz.com” — as I mentioned, you only need the hashtag/@ if you promote your own URL)
