Hoods - Now printable (well soon)

On the 4th Decemeber we’ll activate a new print area for hooded products. The Hood.

(Above is an approx view of the amount of the hood you’ll be able to customize)

No longer just the intimidation tool of pikies & chavs. Now you can get in on the action. Scare your neighbours, fellow shoppers, friends and loved ones.

Okay, jokes a side. There are plenty of stylistic uses for hoods, Tobias added a nice gallery of examples over on the German blog.

Want to see more hoodies for inspiration? We reccomend you check out Andy’s blog Hide Your Arms. He also did this great post recently listing 65 t-shirt blogs. Which might be useful as a promotional tool for your shops.

An apology, and a compensation opportunity

A little pain in the neck

Our last two major releases caused lost sales and extra work for many shop partners. We have heard your frustration and in addition to the apologies and the fixes we’ve made, we will provide extra payments for products sold during the busy Christmas period - December 1st to the 10th.

Everyones a Designer - Free T-shirt Designer for Premium Partners!!

getitfree.jpg

The end of this week will see another small site release (planned at present for Thursday morning). If you squint you might see a few small changes and improvements. But there is one big new feature I’m excited to tell you about today, a free designer tool for Premium Accounts!! This has been a long time coming, and after a few false starts we’re proud to share this great function with all our premium partners.

areyoubored.jpg

Now you can embed our DIY t-shirt creator tool (occasionally referred to as the confomat, shirtomat or jim) into your sites. Having great products is, well great. But even with the marketplace stocking your shops to the brim with great products is not easy work. The confomat offers an alternative - let your customers loose to design their own creation. Perfect for high traffic sites.

How about a little roll play to act out the benefits?

A) I’m a hardworking shop-partner, I’m here for the long haul and want to build my own brand, with my own designs.

Take a confomat, de-activate all our designs, or select just those that fit your brand. Offer all all your designs and allow your customers to tailor them as they see fit.

You’re normal commissions will not apply, you’ll get the standard 20% on all sales via the confomat.

b) I have a nicely trafficked site but lack the time to administer a shop

Bag a confomat for your site, offer the standard designs, and grab your other favourites from the marketplace. Add your sites logo and style elements as a design. Promote your new tool.

Other features:

- You’ll can tweak the layout (a little) to fit your sites styling.

- Everyone gets a standard, very healthy 20% commission on sales.

- You can decide whether end users can upload and use their own graphics.

- You cannot pick which Spreadshirt designs are shown, its a take all or show none deal.

Where do I sign?

Look for the “open new designer shop” button in the admin once the feature is live.

More on this later in the week once its live. We hope you like it.

Cyber Monday Discount Special

partner_cyber_banner.gif

Cyber Monday anyone? Cyber Monday is an American faux-holiday-celebration-salesincentive-thingy following Black Friday and Buy Nothing Day. It signals the start of the Christmas Holiday shopping season allowing those that took part in buy nothing day, to undo all their good work and jump back on the capitalist train :)
This year we’ll take part in the UK. So until mid-night tonight use the special code “cybersale7″ and you’ll save 26% on all products, with no minimum spend. Use the Spreadshirt branding free banner above in your shops.

Need ideas? Fine by me:

- Our sponsored and excellent Web Designers calendar has dropped €4 to €12 (?8.60)

- Its cold. Buy a hoodie. You’ll be warm. With the saving its base price has dropped approx ?5.50 to ?15.

Anti-Holidays Design Competition

Anti Holidays Competition

Christmas is around the corner and thus begins the great divide: between the Stooges - the enthusiasts who love everything about Holiday cheer, and the Scrooges - the ones who might like the core idea of Christmas, but can’t stand the six weeks of hype and hysteria leading up to it.

We’re all about equal representation here at Spreadshirt, so now we’re on a quest to find the quintessential anti-Christmas shirt design. Therefore I hereby launch as part of our equal rights, anti-Christmas campaign, a design competition for “Shirt that Stole Christmas”!! Continue reading ‘Anti-Holidays Design Competition’

Are you social?

Forgetting your password is old news. The latest is forgetting if you ever even had an account somewhere. I wonder how many accounts I have around the web. More than once I’ve got excited by a new service tried logging in by chance only to find that I already have an account there, opened in haste forgotten even faster. We all have hundred of accounts around the web and remembering them all with the help of browsers password memory would be a challenge bordering on the impossible.

You may have watched with interest Googles Android phone platform announcements, or the recent interest in OpenID. One day hopefully we’ll all have just one central username and password to remember for everything. That will be a joyous day for me, you and identity thieves. Everyones a winner. Until that day you can display your web2.0 promiscuousness publically with the help of the “are you social” shirt from a US shop-partner. Its a shirt which allows you to show everywhere you have accounts or services you are actively using:

Vector Magic

vector_magic.jpg

This got a little note in the newsletter, but its definetely worthy of a full post. A great new tool for producing vectors ready for your shops from a standard bmp image.

Its a project of Standford University and we’re really excited about it. Its web based and free, with really high quality results from our tests. For those of you with Illustrator or Coreldraw, this is highly recommended (the sites has comparisons between it and Adobe/Coral here).
