Yep, the newsletter reading amongst you (you all read the newsletter right? Good..) may already know that we need your help. We always need your help of course, as its your creative genius that fuels the vary existence of our service. Now if we can rinse a little more from that sponge, drip your inspiration into the Open Logo Project well. Whats the OLP? Find out more in the full post

The Open Logo Project is a new global contest to design the new Spreadshirt logo.
We’ll take all sorts. Either dedicated folks to help sort, rate, comment and critique all the designs coming in. Or for the more artistically comfortable, why not a submit a logo draft to the contest.

Hang on, why would you want to do either of these things? Well because it would be nice. Secondly because we’ve lined up great prizes, here’s why this is a little different to other design contests:

1) We want to reward more than just the winner = Along with 1,2 & 3 we have 10 different awards worth over €15k and prizes given by us and panel for community involvement, memorability, collaboration and design teams amongst others.

2) We want to give the winner exposure = Along with a Macbookpro and €3,000 cash the winner will get recognition that you can’t buy, their photo and an interview in Computer Arts magazine, an interview on Computerlove and a permanent thank you page @Spreadshirt.

3) We want it to be interesting for non-designers = We have a la Fraise community prize, win one of every single design la Fraise print for one year. Its open to anyone who comments, rates and gives feedback even if they never submit.

4) We don’t want everyone to submit two days before the end = We’ll have a weekly model. Each week we review the entries and move a number through to the grand final. This way we’re able to guide the community more, and stop the good stuff getting buried under an avalanche of last minute designs.

Is this our new logo?

Monkey Logo

err, probably not unless we add primates to the assortment. Anyone need this type of primate? Hum, thought not. These might be a little closer to the mark though, its the first shortlisted designs from the 160 or so that came in week 1.
