Last week we offered you new American Apparel shirts in super-nice new ladies styles. Topping that wasnt easy, but we’ve never been one to shirk a challenge. This week five new products and the chance to help Spreadshirt support a good cause!
We’ve had many requests for organic and more environmentally friendly products. Today we are proud to announce the following new products:
- American Apparel Organic Woman, colour: natural white
- American Apparel Organic Men, colour: natural white
- Continental Organic Women, colours: white, black, red
- Continental Organic Men, colours: white, black, red
- Continental Organic Longsleeve Babygrow, colours: white, light blue, light pink
They are online and ready to go into your stores. They certify to Oeko standards of the Organic Exchange 100 for the Continental shirts, and the USDA (United States department of Agriculture) for the American Apparel shirts. Basically they use no synthetic pesticides and less water consumption in the cultivation of the cotton that goes into the shirts. You can read more about organic cotton over at the Sustainable Cotton Project’s site.
As you may, or may not know the 22nd of April is Earth Day. We’ve teamed up with the very good people from the earth day network and with every purchase of one of these beauties we’ll donate 3 to earth day. Let your customers know they’re donating, once removed, to some really worthwhile projects.
Our shop suggestions:
Update your news tickers, blogs and just about anywhere else your customers are looking. Let them know about the 3 contribution and why organic shirts are important.
Offer these shirts with your most popular designs. Feel free to use the banner’s below in your stores. The 3 donation is for each shirt sold from now to the 16th May.

Post some more pictures of the girls!
Hum, I guess you will have to wait until the end of the year for “best of spreadshirt girls” ‘08 calendar
Hi, like these TEES, my customers 2.
Also would love the FAIR TRADE - label on it.
Greets,
Organic cotton is a step in the right direction, don’t get me wrong. It’s good to see that you’re offering this choice.
That being said, organic cotton is not the most environmentally friendly fabric. By far.
Cotton is one of the most water intensive crops in the world. Not only does it require lots of pesticides and fertilizers, chemical or natural, it also uses lots of energy to grow and to be turned into fabric.
I’d be more stoked on hemp or bamboo t-shirts. They’re like the electric cars to organic cotton’s hybrid cars. Bamboo and hemp are 7 times stronger than cotton (organic or not), use 8 times less water and require absolutely no pesticides or fertilizers.
Glad to hear you’re taking a step in the right direction. I hope you follow it up with even more consideration for the best options available.
Hi Toby,
Thanks for your comments, yep its a step in the right direction, the first of many we hope. Best of luck with htnaturals!
Spreadshirt - this is great. Your next step should be products for a good cause. We’re an eco-ethical wholesaler of basic apparel, and we donate 50% of our profits to a children’s charity.
Would love to work with you guys - I’m sure your customers would appreciate products that gives back to the World!
Best,
Andreas
