We manged to get a few minutes of Larry’s time (our UK Country Manager) to answer a some questions. We came up with 5 things that we would like to know about, but maybe you can come up with something different/better? So if you have some questions you would like answered then leave them as a comment or email them to me.
To check out our interview with Larry then keep reading….
** So Larry, are there any exciting news stories from the UK/Ireland that we should know about?*
Yes, interesting times here in Cork, our Save Shilpa shirts featured in thesun.co.uk (halfway down) were almost certainly the driving force behind Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty storming to victory in UK’s infamous recent Celebrity Big Brother/Race War.
** Do we have any interesting new partnership deals signed or in the pipeline?*
There are now lots of good deals falling into place. TVHits and mag will give away Spreadshirt tees to new subscribers during February and March and will offer all readers a discount coupon for any Spreadshirt store.
The Tommy Baby Charity is a very worthy cause that have just launched their new store .
And Gamespot.co.uk are encouraging gamers to print screenshots of their high scores onto tees. I’m getting one celebrating the time I beat Man U 7-1 on Pro Evo.
** I heard that the LaFriase bunch visited Ireland the other week. How was that?*
Nice bunch - was good to meet everyone for the first time. We’d only met Matthaus and Steffi before. Think they enjoyed the week. We all went to the Greyhound racing at the local track here. The Irish contingent showed their gambling experience all night - confidently ploughing their Spreadshop earnings onto an array of dogs that are doubtless still running now. While the crafty visitors played a more cautious game - Michael Petersen was over the moon at boosting his net worth by 2.20 euro on the first race. Steffi was the other astute punter - seemingly backing all the dogs in each race with impressive results. However, a fruitless evening left Jouni a broken man. Still, there was always the Murphys to fall back on. Check out the LaFraise blogs for pictures.
** How many of you in the UK/Ireland office now?*
Steve is pounding the streets of London looking for partners, Mike is tenderly loving the partners that we have, Nina is making magic with photoshop and Sara Jane is auditioning to become the next Max Clifford on the PR front. So 5 including me.
** What is your favorite UK Spreadshirt shop?*
I like Roy Henderson’s clevaclogs.com, especially during the World Cup. And Steve at 2smartmonkeys.com has some fine shirts. And of course Retrokiwi.com is a great example of a niche shop that sells really well.
