Losing your blog comment

At the time of writing we have had an overwhelming response to our “Future Direction of the UK blog” post. So for the last few weeks we have been hard at work analysing the results in order to get a fair reflection of public opinion. So without further ado, the results of our survey are……..

So with such a definitive conclusion (100% of people are for videos, 0% for nothing else!) we have decided to start a series of posts about building online communities….

Now, before the cries of outrage start, i would like to point out why we have come to this decision. Building online active communities in the UK, seems to be a lot harder buliding them in the US and Germany. You just need to look as far as our sister site, the German Spreadshirt Official blog to see that they receive a lot more comments on their posts than we do (jealousy? yes! …and before you all start… yes, they are probably a more stimulating read!).

OK, so that is unlikely to statistically prove anything, in which case let me point you to another example, a UK blog, Repliqua. Repliqua recently ran a competition to win an Ipod Nano! Total number of responses, 2. One of which was a German!

So what is it about British people that makes them so reluctant to post a comment? I thought I would throw this question open to the comments section to see what sort of a response we get!

I would like to point out that I am one of those British blog readers who rarely comments. In fact, I only recently lost my blog comment posting virginity (BCPV) over here. And before you ask… no I cant explain why it took me so long! Maybe I will leave a comment if i figure it out…
