I’m sitting down this week to write the March newsletter and was thinking: what about photos this week from shop partners/blog readers? So, if you want to, send in your images. Anti-valentine’s went over so well, we’ve set up a new gig: the topical slogan competition. Things we like: news, current events, celebrity, sports…One slogan chosen per day, winner gets a shirt with the slogan.

One of the more high-profile Spreadshirt shops at the moment is the new Guardian Newspapers Official Cartoon Shop. Using the Spreadshirt Designer Interface, some neat technotrickery allows this shop sell the latest Guardian cartoon each day - downloaded directly from the Guardian site. An excellent model for sites with lots of photographic or graphic content that they want to make available on merchandise.

Welcome on board to UK pop/punk outfit JJK, who yesterday opened their new Spreadshirt shop

With all the talk about the Arctic Monkeys Internet Marketing phenomenon, there’s more and more spotlight on how bands can build their fanbase through clever use of online resources. To this end, Spreadshop provides a band with a great way of getting merchandise to their online fans without investing in stock or getting involved with setup costs. 

We’ve had so many bands and DJs use the shop service, that we’re in the process of launching a dedicated band site at spreadyourband.co.uk. Look out for more developments shortly.

Looking to shift some clobber? You can’t beat a bit of coverage in the popular press. A feature carrying a pic of your smartest design - ideally with your URL - in a well-circulated newspaper or mag, is what all shirt-peddlers are after. Now, the team at Spreadshirt are hoping to help you out.

We’re currently working on a specific site for shop partners’ topical products. Here’s the work-in-prog, but there will be a new URL etc. Each week, we’ll feature a couple of designs that focus on topics currently in the news. For starters, it’ll be a decent shop portal that we believe will send some traffic to everyone involved. And secondly, these are just the kind of items that time-strapped columnists like to fill a bit of space with. We’ll also be sending out regular press releases singing the praises of your best submissions. We’ve already picked up some nice coverage in Heat Magazine  for the Big Brother shop.

So if you’ve got any topical designs you’d like to feature, drop a line to blogger@spreadblog.co.uk and we’ll see what we can do. It’s even better if you can send a good photo of someone wearing the shirt in question.

Get your shop in the Spreadshirt directory at: Spreadshops. It’s the new directory for bringing shop partners together for easier finding, searching, shopping. To join, you’ll need to change your admin settings. To do so, log in to your shop admin > marketing > shop directory. That sets your shop to automatically be uploaded to the Spreadshop database.
