Sales and 109% YOY Growth Lead to New Facility in Las Vegas

Boston, MA – March 29, 2012 – In order to meet growing demands, Spreadshirt will be opening its second production facility in the US. After a record-breaking 2011 with 109% YOY growth in the US and 43% globally, Spreadshirt expects to be on track for 40-50% global revenue growth in 2012.

Spreadshirt, the global clothing-commerce platform for creating, buying and selling personalized apparel, has its US headquarters in Boston, MA. With the expanding online marketplace and e-commerce boom, Spreadshirt had a 75% global growth rate in December 2011 alone!

More and more people are buying clothing online and taking advantage of customization options. Since 2010, Spreadshirt has experienced revenue growth from $41M to $63.5M in 2011, and expects revenue to eclipse $100M in 2012. The advent of new mobile technologies and ideas will aid in the continuation of this growth.

“The Spreadshirt platform is an exciting concept that changes the clothing market for consumers and businesses. Our 2011 figures reflect the increasing success of our role in e-commerce and customization. Consumer involvement in content creation and the impact of gamification means consumers now expect high levels of participation and response from brands. Our easy-to-use technology makes Spreadshirt well-placed to capitalize on these trends through 2012, especially in the US”.

The new facility in Las Vegas will increase production capabilities in North America while also adding jobs to the community. People continue to turn to Spreadshirt to find, create, share, market and produce an unlimited variety of designs. And the growing e-commerce market of over 200 million users is expected to continue propelling Spreadshirt’s future global growth.

This season’s Dancing with the Stars premiered Monday, March 19th and highlights celebrities looking to capture the mirror-ball trophy and fans along the way. Spreadshirt.com, the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform for creating, buying and selling personalized apparel, has designs created by members of this seasons’ show. This spring’s group includes Jaleel White, formerly known as the character Steve Urkel on Family Matters, Sherri Shepherd of The View, and Roshon Fegan of Disney’s Shake It Up.

Mobster reality stars are also looking to popularize their brand. With 3.5 million viewers tuned in for the premiere, the success of Mob Wives memorabilia on the Spreadshirt platform has taken on an underground world of its own. Quotes, mottos, and images from the show fill the brand pages of the mob wives—Renee, Ramona, Karen, Drita, Carla, and Big Ang– who are promoting these shops through Twitter and Facebook.

Mark Venezia, Spreadshirt’s VP Global Sales & Marketing says, “We are seeing a growing trend in TV inspired memorabilia and shows like Dancing with the Stars and Mob Wives are leading the movement. Both shows have an enormous fan base. We are seeing consistently high traffic to each of the individual shops with sales reaching as high as 500 per day.”

Check out some of the most popular TV quotes and designs available at Spreadshirt:

* Show that you’re not always a geek with your “Team Jaleel” shirt from Jaleel White, former Family Matters star and current host of Total Blackout. With every purchase of a shirt, $2 will be donated to the Children of the Night Foundation.

* Keep victory in view with a “Team Sherri” shirt, from Sherri Shepherd, comedian and co-host of The View.

* “Join the Rovolution” and support Roshon Fegan as he dances his way into the finals. Roshon stars as Ty Blue on Disney’s Shake It Up and recently released his first self-produced EP “I Am Ro•Shon,” under his independently owned record label, 3inaRo Entertainment.

* Proudly display your inner diva with a shirt baring the quote, “I Don’t Date Cause All The Good Men Are In Jail,” courtesy of Renee Graziano from season one. Graziano is the current consigliere of the Bonanno crime family and daughter of mobster Anthony Graziano.

* Sport your allegiance to your favorite mob wife with a hoodie announcing “If I Ride With U I Die With U,” by Karen Gravano. Show your support for Karen, the daughter of Sammy “the Bull” Gravano, as she tells her family’s crime filled story.

* Show that you are the boss in your house, with Drita’s “Lady Boss” shirt. Working hard as a make-up artist, recently divorced Drita D’Avanzo is out to prove that she’s in charge.

Gather together your friends and celebrate your favorite reality stars by customizing T-shirts, sweatshirts, tanks and more on the Spreadshirt platform. For more TV inspired ideas and to design your own apparel, visit www.spreadshirt.com.

A look at our cotton statistics: Spreadshirt’s trend report #40 / February 2012

Boston, February 14, 2012. February 14 has arrived again: where love is confessed more than any other day of the year. We at Spreadshirt had a closer look at over 6.7 million search requests on our t-shirt platform, and this is what we wanted to know:

Do European, American and British men stand by their women, and vice versa? And which terms of endearment did people confess to be using?

It was to be expected and probably comes at little surprise that men are not doing quite as well as women when it comes to declaring their love in public. Our best-selling “I heart” t-shirts alone were sought for some 30,000 times last year and printed 20,000 times, but their potential is still not quite exploited when it comes to declaring your love:

London, New York and Paris are the leading towns in our “I heart” statistics.

In 8th position we find “I heart my boyfriend”.

The corresponding “I heart my girlfriend” received almost exactly 50% less search results.

In Britain and Germany, 1 in 100 “I heart” t-shirts said that “my girlfriend loves me” – error of judgment or sound rating?

American men seem to be more awake (or loyal?) to their loved ones, because just as many men as women declare their love to each other on their t-shirts in the USA.

You could not think of a nicer way to confess your love than to use terms of endear-ment, right? A German newspaper found out that “precious” is the term most Germans use to refer to their Ingrid or Herrmann, and this is also confirmed by an 80% ratio on Spreadshirt’s t-shirt prints. “Cutie” finished a distant second, and quite a number of animal names were also very popular, probably thanks to their double meanings in German. Americans and Brits are not too fond of animal names, so we find that those German animalistic nicknames have revealed yet another beastly phenomenon of the German psyche. In Britain and America it’s all “honey”, and that didn’t come as much as a surprise either.

A final word on Valentine’s Day – we think that for every romantic woman out there, every unromantic man should make an exception (even if it’s only for a day). Come on guys, just think what mountains you could move by wearing an “I heart my girlfriend” t-shirt!!!

Sales and Growth Call for Opening New US Facility in 2012

Boston, MA – January 17, 2012 – In an uneven economic climate, Spreadshirt has a record-breaking sales month, a 129% growth rate in the US, and is opening another US production facility in 2012 in order to meet consumer and corporate demand.

Spreadshirt, the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform for creating, buying and selling personalized apparel, is a global company with US headquarters in Boston, MA and a production facility in Greensburg, PA. Spreadshirt saw a record-breaking month in December, experiencing a 75% global growth rate comprising of 129% growth in the US and 52% growth in Europe.

Although these numbers are for December alone, they mirror Spreadshirt’s remarkable 4th quarter and transition into 2012 with the same speed and success. With profitable growth across all business units, initial figures are showing December revenue at $9.9 M and over 150,000 orders before Christmas.

“Spreadshirt’s growth in the US attests that our multi-channel platform, with its risk-free approach and quality offering, is really working for consumers and brands alike,” said Philip Rooke, CEO of Spreadshirt. “The Spreadshirt platform is becoming the market leader for businesses – our growth rates continue to accelerate and rapidly increasing volumes mean we will be opening another US facility to handle the demand. It’s already been a very exciting New Year for Spreadshirt.”

In addition, Spreadshirt also had a record-breaking day in December, which saw more than 12,000 orders in a single day! And although one week topped 80,000 orders, VP Sales and Marketing, NA, Mark Venezia, reports “The US numbers could have been even bigger, however we had to reduce marketing in order to meet the incredible demand in our Greensburg facility.”

Due to record-breaking growth numbers in the US and the expanding online marketplace for clothing, Spreadshirt will open a second production facility in the US in early 2012, which will in turn create more US jobs. And with more than 350 employees worldwide, Spreadshirt has continued to strengthen its team and was included on Inc’s annual 500|5000 list in 2011, which ranks the nation’s fastest growing private companies. With an efficient 2011 Holiday season now in the past, Spreadshirt expects to see the same level of growth and opportunities in 2012.

About Spreadshirt
Spreadshirt (www.spreadshirt.com) is the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform for creating, buying and selling personalized apparel. For the more than 35,000 active online shops selling around the world in 2010, the Spreadshirt c-commerce platform offers a flexible, risk-free, print-on-demand approach. Spreadshirt’s fulfillment service handles everything from production and payment to shipping and customer service.

The platform provides multiple channels to bring customers’ ideas to life on clothing. These channels include 3rd party e-commerce marketplaces like Amazon, white label and social media shops, and countless other applications using Spreadshirt’s API.

After paying tribute to the quarterback by taking pictures of himself with friends in Tim Tebow’s prayer position after a Broncos win, Jared Kleinstein, a 24-year-old Denver native, dubbed the pose “Tebowing” and launched http://tebowing.com/.

Since the site’s creation just three weeks ago, Tebowing.com has over 8 million page views and over 1.1 million unique visitors. More than 800 pictures have been posted to the site from over 9,000 submissions – not including the pictures that have independently been shared on Twitter and Facebook.

“It’s been an exciting few weeks and we are proud to have created such an exciting movement; we are incredibly happy and are looking forward to seeing where it goes from here,” said Jared Kleinstein, creator and CEO of Tebowing.com

Tebowing.com is using Spreadshirt’s multi-channel clothing commerce platform to create, sell and market Tebowing merchandise, ranging from t-shirts and hoodies to baby bibs, hats and dog attire (http://tebowing.spreadshirt.com/). Although it may cause some laughs, Tebowing is no joke – over 200 shirts were sold in less than 18 hours after the shop opened, and wholesale companies are already inquiring about orders.

“It’s exciting to see Tebowing.com doing so well so quickly on the Spreadshirt marketplace,” said Mark Venezia, VP Global Sales and Marketing at Spreadshirt. “Our priority is always to provide value to our customers and Tebowing.com is a perfect example of how we offer shop partners a quick and hassle-free marketplace that can deliver immediate results.”

The owners of Tebowing.com are sticking close to their roots – with ties to the Denver community, Tebowing.com is working with local Denver charities and has pledged a percentage of all t-shirt and apparel proceeds to go towards these organizations.

Whether you are a fan or just like Tebowing yourself, check out the shop http://tebowing.spreadshirt.com/ to learn more and see the most popular designs.

Debut on List Spurred by Three-Year Sales Growth of 97%

Boston, MA, Sept. 12, 2011 — Inc. magazine recently ranked Spreadshirt as Number 2,435 overall on its fifth annual Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy–America’s independent entrepreneurs. Spreadshirt joins Spirit Airlines, television maker Vizio, Honest Tea, Dunkin Donuts and Metrokane, makers of the Rabbit corkscrew, among other prominent brands featured on this year’s list.

Spreadshirt, the leading multi-channel clothing commerce platform, makes its debut on the Inc. 500|5000 List, ranking 120th in the Consumer Products & Services industry, and 75th in the Boston area with 97% growth over the last three years.

“Spreadshirt’s place in the Inc. 5000 serves not only as recognition of our success as a company, but as a confirmation that our c-commerce platform, with its risk-free approach, is a viable resource for people who want to identify with and express their loyalty to ideas and brands by providing them with clothing they love to wear,” said Philip Rooke, CEO, Spreadshirt.

In a stagnant economic environment, median growth rate of 2011 Inc. 500|5000 companies remains an impressive 94 percent. The companies on this year’s list report having created 350,000 jobs in the past three years, and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $366 billion, up 14 percent from last year. “Now, more than ever, we depend on Inc. 500/5000 companies to spur innovation, provide jobs, and drive the economy forward. Growth companies, not large corporations, are where the action is,” says Inc. magazine Editor Jane Berentson

Complete results of the Inc. 5000, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, region, and other criteria, can be found at www.inc.com/5000.

Methodology
The 2011 Inc. 500 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2007 to 2010. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2007. Additionally, they had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent–not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies–as of December 31, 2010. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2007 is $100,000; the minimum for 2010 is $2 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons. Companies on the Inc. 500 are featured in Inc.’s September issue. They represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found at www.inc.com/500.

A glance at the cotton statistics: the Spreadshirt Trend Report, Nr. 36 / September 2011

Boston, August 31,2011: Over the course of their lives women spend 76 days rummaging around in their handbags, which they use to store items worth €800. This is according to the findings of a daily newspaper in Germany. So Spreadshirt are convinced that a woman’s bag, with which she spends so much of her time, shouldn’t just be any old off-the-rack number. Today’s look at the cotton statistics reveals the country where the highest numbers of personalized bags are sold, as well as which bag model it is the Danes prefer – and they certainly stand out from the crowd.

Spreadshirt’s range includes 10 different bags, all of which you can personalize for yourself. In the US, the most popular piece is rectangular, practical and looks great. With 32.7% of sales, the Messenger Bag is the best seller, closely followed by the Eco-Friendly Cotton Bag (26.1%) and the Small Tote Bag (18.9%). On the other side of the Pond, the Dutch, Norwegians and Poles have similar tastes when it comes to their choice of bag, also preferring the Messenger Bag to all the other models. In Germany they don’t just use Tote Bags to carry their freshly baked bread rolls in the morning; right now, there is no more practical or fashionable accessory for the Germans. So it’s no surprise to hear that, with 32.2%, it’s the Germans’ favorite bag model. What the ladies over in Denmark carry about in their bags remains something of a mystery – they probably don’t really have much of an idea themselves, because their favorite, the Duffel Bag, is so spacious that a gal can easily lose track!

Another interesting nugget: iPads have still yet to dethrone the humble laptop. At least that’s what Spreadshirt’s sales figures suggest. After all, half of all protective sleeves ordered are for notebooks, compared to just 17.5% for iPads.

Spreadshirt customers’ color concept is pretty straightforward. A subtle bag color is bursting with benefits. It matches just about every outfit, and with the right design – preferably one with plenty of bold colors – it can be a real eye-catcher. The most popular colors for the Tote Bag are white and black, and whenever the Messenger Bag is scanned at the virtual tills, most often it’s in black. The backpack is brand new to the Spreadshirt range. Still, having only been about for a month, it’s already up there among the top 5 bags for August. Any yes, you’ve guessed it – the most commonly ordered color is black.

Bags make up 1.7% of all European orders from the past 12 months, and this figure is on the increase. On the other hand, North America has seen a slight drop in bags’ share of orders since last year – orders for bags currently average less than 1%.

Of course, there isn’t a day when women leave the house without their beloved portable treasure trove, but there are seasonal differences when it comes to sales patterns. Worldwide, less bags are sold on average in the spring months, while in the last few weeks of the year they pretty much fly off of the shelves.

The Trend Report is designed to deliver a monthly insight into new trends in the universe of individualized clothing.

Spreadshirt, the leading multi-channel clothing-commerce platform, lets you express yourself in a way that’s as unique to you as your own style. Mark Venezia, Spreadshirt’s VP Global Sales & Marketing says, “What you wear to a game can foster camaraderie in a social setting and can be a great conversation starter when you’re just out and about.”

Here are some thought-provoking rivalries and fun facts to help inspire your creativity:

Boston vs. New York is the greatest rivalry in baseball. The ubiquitous “[Insert Team Name] Suck” is always a popular chant, but don’t limit yourself there—insert any team you feel that way about.

Tampa Bay fans rarely fill the stadium so why not shame them into it with a shirt that says, “Tampa Bay Fans Are Like an Old Bra —No Support.”

The LA and San Francisco rivalry is both fierce and competitive. LA fans could poke fun at San Francisco’s first baseman with a trash-talkin’ tee stating “Pandas Belong in the Zoo,” a jab at the first baseman’s “panda” moniker.

Although Pittsburgh has not made the playoffs in 19 years, they’re making a run for it this year. Local artist, Wiz Khalifa’s Pittsburgh anthem Black and Yellow would look cool on a tee…“Uh Huh, You Know What It Is”.

“102 Years and Counting” is a fan favorite for St. Louis fans to wear to the series against Chicago who has not won a World Series in over a century—and it looks like the streak could continue to 103.

Get the kids involved. Let the Spreadshirt platform take you and your family into the home stretch with customized T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and more. A personalized tee is a wonderful way to create lasting memories and will be a home run no matter which team wins.

Below, Spreadshirt offers five good reasons why you should consider making your own staycation fashion statement this summer.

1.	Family fun for all ages
Kick-off a family reunion with specially designed hats, tees, or hoodies! From Grandma down to the youngest cousin, there is something special just waiting to be created. And wearing your personalized reunion apparel after the event is over will always be a warm reminder of a fond family memory.

2.	Safety in numbers
If you’re planning a visit to an amusement park this summer, designing a tee for all to wear is not only a fun activity, it can keep the group safe too! If someone gets separated from the pack—whether your young child or your husband—wearing the same T-Shirt color and design will help you find them.

3.	Raindrops keep falling on your head
Having a rainy staycation day? No problem—gather everyone around the computer and even the little ones will want in on the fun! Spreadshirt is so easy to use that everyone in the family will want to get their creative juices flowing—and it’s a great way to pass the time on a rainy day.

4.	Friendly competition
Even the guys can get in on the fun by making sure the winning team at the BBQ throwdown is not only remembered for award winning cooking but for their awesome style too! Create a unique apron for the all time best BBQ King. Your guy will be able to assert his bragging rights every time he fires up the grill and wear his “crown” proudly up until the next staycation cook-off.

5.	Girls just want to have fun
You love your family, but even mom needs a little “me time” during a summer staycation. Plan a fun night out with friends and create a unique top for a night out with the girls… and don’t forget a fruity drink or two!
