Sein Werk: ein Basketball-Shirt mit OLED-Displays. OLED-Displays sind die netten Anzeigen, die einem neuerdings auf MP3-Playern entgegenleuchten. Die Farbflächen auf den Shirts passen sich situativ dem Spielgeschehen an. Informationen wie Fouls, Punkte und die Restzeit eines Spiels erscheinen direkt an den Spielern. Aber woher weiß das Hemd, welche Stunde ihm geschlagen hat? Jeder Spieler trägt einen Computer in der Größe einer Zigarettenschachtel bei sich, welcher wiederum drahtloss die Daten von einem Server in der Halle holt.Das Konzept ist prinzipiell auf alle Sportarten, außer dem Synchronschwimmen übertragbar. Basketball wurde jedoch als Versuchsträger auserkohren, weil das Spiel im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen Sportarten, jede Menge variabler Spielstatistiken mit sich bringt. So verändernd sich die Punktzahlen hier besonders schnell, Fouls sind möglich und auch Zeitlimits wirken stark auf das Spielgeschehen aus. Auf das Spielgeschehen wirkt sich jetzt auch aus, das diese Statistiken auf dem Feld so präsent sind:

just to clarify, we did not use OLED displays, but EL (electroluminescent) panels & wires.
btw: the panels can be removed, so the jerseys are washable.
Okay sorry, I did not see the difference between OLED and EL. The guy right beside me also means there is a difference but he doesn’t know it…
btw: don’t the panels need no clean up (`_^)
Electroluminescent display is a phosur based flexible display which illuminates when a high frequency AC signal is applied - it is not a new technology by no means, but is bright, flexible, and flat, perfect for clothing integration.
just think of the stuff Materazzi could have lighted up on his display when confronting Zidane.
